True, but the ability and skill to score goal after goal is what separates Cristiano and Messi from everyone else and Salah was on their level last season, let's see if he can keep it up. One of the most memorable commentator quotes for me is when he scored against Roma and the commentator said "Every game a goal, every goal a beauty". I like the guy, he seems very humble. He was kind of a bitch about the whole Ramos thing but i can't really blame him.
That's true. He just lacked the scoring ability which last season he improved it a lot. Can't be sure if he is truly a great goal scorer or a one season wonder though. Should wait and see.
I like Hazard a lot, but not sure how he would do here. Teams against us almost every game park the bus and he needs a space to be at his best. EPL is different, it suits him more.
All the players are like that. Is there any one who we can say is specially good when playing against compact defences?
Yeah Neymar was pretty good against tight defences, still he was even deadlier when he had space. All players do their best when they got ample space.
Why not loan or buy Falcao? He is no world beater anymore but I think he'd score some goals because he actually plays as a 9
But the thing is, we already have a striker (who was superb last season) on the bench. He's simply not being given a proper chance yet. The same would happen with a Falcao (who I rated very, very highly in the past by the way).
Forget Pulisic, Jadon Sancho is BVB’s best young player at the moment. His assist ratio is crazy and has a elite mentality.
I'm surprised the Britts let one of their best, if not the best, young prospects slip to another league.
In the summer: Sign De ligt, Frenkie De Jong,Hazard and Alaba Bring Kovacic, Lunin and Theo back from their loans Sell: Lucas, Navas,Marcelo, Modric Loan out: Vallejo, Llorente, Which leaves a squad of Goalkeepers- Courtois, Lunin Right backs-Carvajal, Odriozola, Nacho Centre backs- Varane, Ramos, De Ligt, Nacho Left backs- Alaba, Theo DM- Casemiro, Kovacic, Llorente CM- Kovacic, Kroos, De Jong, Isco, Ceballos Rw- Bale, Asensio Lw- Hazard, Vinicius St- Benzema, Mariano
Man City wanted him to stay but Sancho and Pep fell out. Similar situation with Pogba and Man U before he left for Juve
May be best for him anyway, get some real game time and some experience of playing in another league, maybe a different way?, broaden his horizons unlike most of the British players who prefer to stay in England, looks a good player too, him and that Foden guy at Man City actually look fairly comfortable on the ball and like they actually know what they are doing, could be the small start of something good for England in the future
Yh, the next generation of English players look good, many won the world cups in the younger age groups and the European championships. Could be some nice bargains around, maybe not Real Madrid standard but good enough for tier below. Foden, Trent Alexander Arnold, Sancho, Nelson, Mount, Calvert Lewin, Lookman and James Maddison look good. They’re technically good unlike past English players in past generations. Out of those Sancho is the main one to look out for, his style is a mix of hazard and Neymar. Foden too but I doubt he will ever leave Man City, likewise with Alexander Arnold with Liverpool.
Agreed , good points, although I wasn't necessarily talking about any of them coming to Madrid just mainly that the quality of a few of the younger players seems to be on the rise which in itself should be good for the English team
Nobody will take this wage behemoth off them. They are stuck with him to the end of his contract now.
Mariano won't stay if we continue to bench him! We need a goal scorer to replace him... and I am serious.
Well, we are all optimistic and hoping the team can do something this season but not a good look 7 games in with Gareth injured and Benz right now being, well...... Benz of the last two seasons, two things no one wanted to see at all this season from those two, not even for a min, but others thought inevitable, maybe some other (younger) players will step up and fill the void until they return from injury or to form?, that would be great.
We should learn our lesson from the last EPL winger/attacker we got. Gareth needs space to be at his best and the EPL suited him very well. We hoped he would develop his game in Spain and give us more and to an extent he did but not the point where he fits in perfectly with our style. Every time he is on the pitch he seems like apart from the rest of the team. Like a specialist weapon to be used 3-4 times. Not saying Hazard and him are similar. Hazard's dribbling is very good. But I don't know how it would fit in against good/organized/bunkering teams which we seem to play on most weeks. I don't rate Hazard as highly as a couple of people here and certainly not for the price rumored. His chance is gone anyway, it was last summer when he had to convince Chelsea and force a move at a reasonable price. He will extend with them and I am glad we stayed away.
