This Singapore youtube channel showing live streams of Asian games seems to be restricted for other countries but is still accessible by using a proxy/vpn set to Singapore: https://www.youtube.com/user/SingaporeSports/videos

And all their live streams have commentary (English) unlike the official Asian Games youtube channel.

    I just had a thought
Kim Minjae, Cho Yumin, Hwang IB, Kim JM, Lee SW, Kim JY, etc. are all U21 and will be available for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics (so much for a U23 team Japan...)

I think it's safe to say those guys wouldn't get called up because of military exemption? Unless we're sorely lacking a CB/LB or something and HAVE To take one of them?

Would they even participate in the Olympic qualifiers?

I hope Kim Jinya becomes the next RB to be honest. We already have a lot of wingers so if he wants playing time for NT, he should try and become a bonafide fullback. He'll get more opportunity in the future.
For LB, I'm not too sure.

We have players like YSY, KJS, PJH who can play LB. He should be tried at right back.

European based players like LSW will probably take the summer off but I think Kleague and other Asian league players can play for other reasons like European scouts.

I think maybe YSY. PJH is kind of old now and isn't the same player as before. KJS kind of sucks.

Kim JY and Kim MH should be elevated to the senior team and remain LB and RB respectively. Their tuhon and defense is impressive. I think we need to move on from the has-beens of Olympics 2012 squad like YSY and start integrating the next generation.

It depends on their situation with the current club. Personally i would never forbid a young player to get some international experience, I just don't see the point of refusing to release a player for an international tournament. Ok not high quality tournament but it's an unique experience nonetheless.

Must suck for clubs like Jeonbuk to release many of their players for national team (though that's part of the baggage that comes with signing high-quality players).

I thought only players born after 1997 can participate? I personally hope that Kim Jin Ya and Kim Jung Min will be included in Olympic squad. Song Bum Keun, too if he becomes a better GK, which I am sceptical about.. I doubt that Verona would release LSW.

Kim Mun Hwan has been the better FB in the AG. He should get a chance first. I personally think that KMH will be our RB for the next years.

Oh and for LB, I think playing Um Wonsang. His speed is immense and has good technique. He can be our Cuadrado who has played left back today.

We still need to figure out a DM.

Ok so it's too early to speculate but if I was to pick the olympic squad it'll be:

    Suk Hyunjun
    Paik Seungho-Lee Kangin-Kwon Changhoon
    Hwang Kiwook-Han Chanhee
    Um Wonsang-CB-CB-Kang Jihoon
    Gu Sungyun

    Bench
    GK:Min Sungjun
    CF: Yoo Juan
    Winger: Jeong Wooyeong
    CM/DM: ?
    CB: ?
    FB: ?

Was KJM good overall in the tournament? I remember many of us saying he was terrible against Malaysia.

He had one horrible defensive lapse in the final. Otherwise, he started spraying passes like KSY on a terrible potato patch pitch. In the other matches, as a sub, I thought that he did what he had to. What he really needs is more playing time this season. He's a potential pillar for the KNT.

Love the passion, the hard work and dedication. Though, I must wonder - the 2014 team won gold undefeated and without conceding a single goal. And yet I'd say that the 2014 team was trash. Fast forward 4 years, our team is indivually better and yet we couldn't beat Malaysia, Uzbekistan and some U21 Japan. Thoughts?

Well for the most part, that Malaysia loss was absolutely trash tactics & a trash keeper. We played what was essentially a 3-3-4 against a team with the intent of counterattacking through the wings.

Our 2018 squad is also significantly younger than 2014. There was no one younger than 22 in 2014 whereas in 2018 the avg age was 21.

I think Kim Jung-min and Hwang In-bum adds much needed depth to our KNT and a significant improvement over 2014.

I actually didn't watch Malaysia. I'm assuming they parked the bus?

You could see that he was too young (mentally) for this tournament. His talent is too obvious to ignore though. His overall AG performance was underwhelming (worst player vs Malaysia, not good vs Vietnam, decent vs Japan), but he must become an integral part of the Olympic team imo.

I dont understand your idea of turning Uhm into a LB. He's clearly got potential to become a great winger (imo more talented than JWY). I also think that Kang Ji Hoon has a tough future with KNT after his illegal betting incident. It's very easy: play Kim Jin Ya as RB, he's young enough for the Olympics. And atm, Cho Young Wook is better than Yoo Juan. Also, Paik has turned a CDM. Better use him there, HCH as playmaker and use LKI in a free role on the left (who constantly rotates with KCH and with HCH). :)
