By my count ESPN+ (or ESPN in general) now has the rights to: MLS USL English Football League English FA Cup English League Cup Australian A-League Chinese Super League Dutch Eridivise Serie A UEFA League of Nations Spanish FA Cup (Copa del Ray) German FA Cup All for $5 a month with no cable/sat contract required.
You should work for ESPN. After reading this, I am tempted to buy in for the first time. I don't have the time to watch much though.
Sounds like the perfect time to buy the annual subscription because it'll be at least $10 a month when it gets folded into the Disney version of Netflix.
Love how many people bashed this at the start, and now it’s near insanity how well it’s catered to the soccer audience. Seria A is great even though we have 0 Yanks playing there but the Eredivise was a surprise. They just need to add PSG / Nantes games and ill be almost set to have somewhere to watch most of the Yanks that matter.
And don't forget all of the other content on there either. ESPNFC is now daily, MLS Rewind weekly.........all of the 30 for 30's...........There is so much content on there it is mind boggling. For the basketball nerds, Kobe Bryant's Detail is amazing.
Well it is step down for just mls coverage from mlslive...no question. Thats what the bashing was for and why for the first time since it had been offered i am not a subscriber to mls content. No condensed games...those are free now. Its saving grace is you get access to a lot of other stuff.
My complaint about the transition to ESPN+ is that access to the previous seasons' games is no more. You used to be able to watch a previous season's game, back to 2015 or whatever at the MLS website if you were an MLS Live subscriber. That's no more. I realize that I'm one of a very small number of people who care about that, but I still lament its loss. Other than that, ESPN+ has been pretty good and quite the value.
Sorry for the non sequitur, but if anyone has any experience/tips for navigating by ESPN+'s VPN detection I'd greatly appreciate a DM. I've just moved outside of the U.S. and can't keep up with my weekly Union-induced disappointment
Every August 8, ESPN2 becomes ESPN8 The Ocho. http://www.espn.com/espn/story/_/id/24311889/full-coverage-espn8-ocho-2018
Anyone know why SKC v POR is not showing in my ESPN+? I haven't had any problems all year watching SKC home or away so I can't imagine I'm blacked out or anything.
It was there showing the scheduled event, then not there for a few minutes, then there again after the stream started.
New update today added ESPN Insider access for ESPN+ subscribers (basically unlocks all the articles behind a paywall on their site): https://variety.com/2018/digital/news/espn-insider-switched-to-espn-plus-streaming-1202911642/ Also some updates of note from that article...
Heads up. ESPN+ is currently offering a 30 day free trial for new accounts. The offer expires on 9/2/18.
I sure am seeing a lot of smaller conference football games that used to be free on watchespn now behind the espn+ pay wall. Seems I said that would happen and was told by at least a couple it wouldn't[emoji6]
