i must admit a loss to an u21 team in the finals would have been very humiliating for both the players and us fans but japan is looking very pathetic here. why stop at u23? why not put u21*only one player per club released vs u23 + world cup goal scorer + 26 year old gamba osaka starter + skinny albino mohawk ?
I LOL'ed Altho I'd rather have them make excuses rather than get into redemption mode. Less pressure for us.

LSW has to be my fav KNT player at the moment. He always comes to play. At one point I wasn't sure he was going to fully recover and get back on track from the FIFA ban and all the things that came along with it. Because some of his antics / cockiness I thought his mental game would be fragile, but he's really the opposite. He's passionate, never gives up, and heaps of talent to go with it. And perhaps most importantly for the KNT, tons of heart. He's going to be a monster on the national team for the next decade, and he's just getting started.
He's got a lot more to prove against professional adults. He has always dominated against boys. Not a thing has changed. Having said that, brilliant goals this tournament. Never disappoints against the Japanese boys. Hope he can take this and do it in a top European league. A long way to go for him.
Not sure how many 20 yr olds would've had the instinct to basically take the ball from SHM and hit the perfect shot as he did. Love this guy.
LOL. LOVE LOVE that attitude. So refreshing to see this. I can't imagine any other Korean players now or before taking the ball away from a senior like SHM.
not an easy shot...crowded by defenders and Son approaching point of contact... Well done, young apprentice
that's exactly it. just the fact that it's Sonny too; what player can we recall that would have had the balls to take that shot from THE sunbae when we needed it the most? we have sorely lacked this "at all cost" attitude on our National Teams for too long. for KNT history buffs, not only is it historically a monumental goal, but there are so many other tangibles at work. that is a goal we ought not to forget for a very long time.
I love LSW's arrogance (arrogance in a good way) and don't give a fk attitude. We need players like these where they can handle the pressure and the confidence to take on shots and defenders. Also huge fan of Kim Min Jae's bulldog mentality. Uses his body well and knows how to be a bully to the opposition.
Nice to see athletes of different countries enjoying their moments together. Would've been nice to see Park Hang Seo celebrate bronze with Vietnam, but congratulations to UAE.
Watch LSW's post match interview... Truly impressive how he carries himself. What a winner. To steal the shot from SHM was groundbreaking stuff for the KNT imo. Hopefully HHC learned from LSW. I want him to stop deferring to SHM when he has a shot at goal. Let's close the chapter on Rio, Russia and Indonesia and watch HHC score more crucial goals moving forward. Kim JY and Kim MH. Wow. They were special. Kim Jungmin, other than one defensive lapse, showed why he is the real deal in this final. We really do have another special regista in the making. I can't believe we have to go through this shit again in two years and then another two years after that. Japan approached this tournament the right way to prepare for Tokyo20 with their younger squad. One day in the very near future, I hope we do as well and end this Kafka-esque exemption nonsense.
Jo Hyeonwoo is a national treasure because with him, you never have to worry about the goalkeeper and the defense at the same time. If SBK was in net for that 2-2 chance at the very end, we'd have been in for penalties. No disrespect to guys like Kim Seunggyu and Kim Jinhyeon, but Jo should be the #1 for the next decade, because we haven't had a keeper with that stabilizing quality since LWJ.
For as wasteful as HHC was, he still ended up scoring the 2 game-winning goals in our most difficult games: against Uzbekistan and Japan.
Who's your Daddy!!! Just saw the results and highlights. Sucks I missed it live, but man... That's what I'm taking about! WTHeck that tackle going for Son in the box and no penalty? Clearly that dog with dirty intentions... ... Gehseki... Korea team towered over the short legs lol... So many chances and unlucky.. Korea could have had like 5 legit goals. Either way... GOLD suckers! Sayonara sekiduhr...
