Made it to the bench today but did not play, as his team won 0-3 away against FC Ufa.

I read he was subbed in at the 83rd minute against Spartak on a Sept. 23rd match, and also started and played the entire cup match on Oct. 10. The cup match went into PKs which CSKA lost 0-3, and Nishimura missed his kick.

Anyone know how he actually played though?

He came 2 or 3 minutes before that. I wonder why did not the coach bring him earlier as the team clearly was not functioning in the attacking zone and they have to score and reduce the deficit?

Takuma scored few goals at the mid season training camps and he is now higher in the pecking order, especially as Hernandez is injured often, Sigurdsson got a little dip in the form and Zhamaletdinov loaned out.

He kind of hesitated on the goal, weird. Could have missed the chance. Glad to see him play finally

It is clear that he spent the first half of the season adapting to the team and the atmosphere in Muscow/Russia. Even the coach was cautious using him earlier in the season.

However, it seems that he got a decent time to adapt in the winter break and he is now getting more minutes, and started and scored in a decisive match against Rubin Kazan.

If every young Japanese player will end up being the star of his team after spending half of his first season (or full of it) adapting and not getting much playing time as a result, as it was the case with Tomiyasu in Belgium, then I have no problem with it.

    Wish him all the best.

Started on the left wing in a couple of preseason matches.

Season starts this weekend. We'll see if the coach considers him a regular or not.

I read that he feels more comfortable in Russia now. Hopefully he will receive more game time this season. I think that he can get 7-10 goals this season if he gets playing time.
