4. They're bunch of U-21 college kids. 5. They're unimpressive as they were throughout the entire tournament. 6. Maeda sucks donkey nuts.
Doubt it. A senior player scoring 10 goals in a tournament with dog-sh*t u-23 Z-list nations is hardly going to turn many eyes.
Don't let this tourny fool you. Him as a senior scoring against bunch of u23/22/21 B-C Asian teams does not mean he's good enough for Europe.
The whole Japanese team is pretty abysmal, and he stands out among them by being even worse, so enough said.
Definitely too early to say that he'll go to Europe. However, this tournament will give him a free ticket for the first games under Bento. And if he can impress, he will get more involved with the NT. Also, with a confident boost, he might have a good J League season, which will alert scouts from Bundesliga. It's up to him whether he can keep this form or if it's just a temporary high. I'm still sceptical, because we haven't seen him against international sides. However, I was proven wrong about him being useless. He does his job more than well for this team.
HUJ has really well taken advantage of SHM getting double-, triple-teamed. With a competent partner like SHM, I think he will be fine in KNT as long as Bento does not deploy him as a lone striker under 4-2-3-1 or such.
Hwang Euijo earned himself ticket onto KNT at this tournament. Whether he can continue scoring at higher level is up to him. Good to have options though. Would love to bring Lee Kangin, Baek Seungho, Suk Hyunhun in the mix as well. Let them compete. Huh Jungmoo was great at this.
Korea, as tournament faves, seems to be following classic overdog status and getting better as tournament goes along. Japan is ideal opponent b/c motivation is gonna be absolutely maxxed out.
Lol, I can’t believe I’m reading this. He had more than enough chances at the NT stage, and he was sh*t. Impressive how scoring against shit u-23 teams is enough to change people’s opinion about him. We have a much more capable striker in Suk, we don’t need him.
Don't want to be defending him, but past bad NT performances don't automatically make him a shite player in present. Son Heung Min has had plenty of dogshite performances, too. 9 goals in a tournament is an argument, no matter how low the level was. I also disagree with the people here saying he should become our new no.9, but he deserves to get a new chance, doesn't he? Although before anyone, Suk should get a chance first! Sad that even Bento ignores him.
If Ji can get 4309234249 chances then why not HUJ? He played 9 games under SHITLIKE. Even Son was fking shit under him. He played 2 games under STY when only 국내파s were called up. Everyone was fking shit during those games as well. He played only 11 games for our NT, and he didnt even start for most. No one is sayin he must be our new #9. But he totally deserves new chance more than anyone right now. You need to realize scoring 9 goals in any tournaments is impressive, especially when there is only one Korean player who scored more than him in the past. You are saying as if Korean players have scored a bunch of goals in the past Asian games with no problems. Did you even watch the matches? Suk might have scored as much by making different chances, but I doubt he would've scored the same goals if he were in the exactly same situations as HUJ. Most of his goals were not even "Easy" goals.
Agree. How many Mickey mouse tournies has lsw dominated? This tournament is only good for military exemption.
reading this forum youd think suk hyunjun is some hot shit. i make effort to watch every one of his matches and i cant even remember the last time he played 90 minutes in a match let alone score a goal. hwang euijo aint all that but you cant use the existence of suk hyunjun as the sole reasoning for dismissing him. just a year ago suk hyunjun tallied a total of 1 goal in between hungarian+turkish league
Who else scored 1 goal between hungarian and turkish league last year as journeyman in Europe? He deserves a shot. Obviously he's been iced out bc he has no political connections within KFA and K-League. That's not right.
he's done far better things since playing in France...that is until he got hurt in Spring. in 26 games he netted 6 and even improved holding the ball.
Btw, I hope Vietnam wins against UAE, so that every Korean at this tournament can be happy on Saturday.
He can delay his service until 37, because he has moved to Europe before 18 and lived with his parents since then. He just can't play for a military team like Sangju, Asan, etc. But I guess he's fine with normal service.
