I've started a new threat for the upcoming season,, I do think the title is a bit appropriate! Here was BM's lineup vs the Dutch team, Eindhoven, which they won 9-0. I hope they'll get more competitive score lines during the regular season. They didn't start Behringer(unless she's retired) & Hendrich is out with a light injury & of course, poor Mandy, will she ever see action again? as they got the likes of Roord & a zillion eastern euro players ahead of her
Dk0I2KdWsAAOJ8n.jpg here was another friendly., notice that one of the Dongus twins has moved on to play in Italy. Frankfurt has brought in a couple of Austrians as well thankly Groenen has decided to stay,

I've seen that Bayern have tested a lot of players in their friendlies, and I'm really excited to see Bayern this season, really... Because Wolfsburg's defense is far from flawless... :whistling:

but now BM is so strong, that most of their Bundi opponents going to park the bus, thus giving them no real competition(except for WOB).

glad you found this new thread, though what's happened to White/Blue? lat time seems like the mods where gunning for him, as he had a yellow card & they closed down the 'hottest women' thread(of which he was a main contributor)

It seems to me like the Wolfsburg coaches are desperate to fit in Babett Peter for some reasons, so she’s been playing like LB and RB for Maritz and Blässe lol... looks like Gössling/Wedemeyer/Doorsoun are fighting for the last CB spot

here was their lineup for their friendly yesterday/so Doursoon & Wedermeyer sit on the bench(even though they got chosen for next week's Iceland'd match, whereas Gunnardottir & Peter get valuable pre season playing time as starters; whats wrong with this scenario? lol

Bayern's true test is surely European competition now, not the league... And I suggest this because they've already proven themselves domestically, winning domestic league and cups within the same era of Wolfsburg's ascent to the top.

So in a coming season they're unlikely to have real competition for 2nd place, being nothing but a consistently disappointing side within the one major competition they need to prove themselves has to stop, no?

True progression beyond Bayern being known as a big name developing otherwise average teams, has to be their next goal.

In her teams 4-0 victory vs MSV Duisburg, 16 y.o. Lena Oberdorf scores twice on her Bundesliga debut...

They need a stronger CM and defensive performances... already being able to match Wolfsburg's goal scoring rate (proved last season), they've recently made themselves even stronger in the attack with the addition of Magull.

But if Bayern honestly hope to compete for domestic and European honors this season, they will need to improve their CM and defense... in many of the same ways Freiburg will need to organize it's attack better, to score at least 10 extra goals this season if they want to improve on last season's 3rd place.

So I think Bayern already have enough quality to win the league, but their spine of GK - CB - CM will all need to showcase noticible improvements to enable a realistic fight for domestic and European titles.

After the recent UCL final extra time collapse, and Bayern making them look completely ordinary during the domestic cup final, it doesn't appear like Wolsfburg have done anything to improve themselves....o_O
They've done this before against other clubs in this competition, so I'd wait until they face stronger opponents, and then assess if it's time to start creating narratives of Bayern's new found parity with proven European elites.

Well you have a pretty strong back four in Maier - Wenninger - Demann - Schweers so the midfield is more of a concern for me as Behringer and Leupolz are captain and vice-captain respectively... and considering Behringer's performances the least ten years and Leupolz struggling to regain form, I'm not confident in Bayern's midfield either... so whether a Kathy Hendrich is able to get a way into the midfield of potentially partnering Demann or Laudehr being able to get back after another injury after going strong for Bayern last season, I'm really concerned for them yes... and this is mostly because I do not want to see Wolfsburg do a double again this season...

but the add on of Magull & Hendrich will make them way stronger than anything before. Like I've mentioned , the only enemy their going to have is keeping themselves competitive until they meet the likes of WOB & Lyon.

    here's the full Essen/Duisburg game
    https://tv.dfb.de/video/frauen-bundesliga-msv-duisburg-sgs-essen/23001/

I hope this isn't a sign from things to come from the DFB website. They 1st, gave the wrong time, then had no commentary(did the crew miss the game cuz of the wrong time given? lol), along with no score board or titles for the lineups/subs. Oddly, the camera work was pretty good!

the game; no use to dwell any further on the no name Duisburg, I mean, they had two for-sure goals with only the GK to beat, & flubbed them both.

Essen; the definitely the prototype German team with BMW efficiency, but all the offense seemed to come from the midfield(Dallmann's 3 assists, Oberdorf 2 goals, Wilde's 1, where as barely anything substantial from the two vaunted fwds(Knaak & Schuller). Knaak, the busier of the two, but taking several aimlessly/wild shots, whereas didn't even know that Schuller was in this game until she finally scored late in the game thanks to another brilliant pass from Dallmann, who of course proved to be the star of the game!(especially with her drives, cutting through Duisburg's defenses & phenom passing)

on defense though, Essen seemed to followed the lead of Jorgie, sending their FB's way out of position, leaving the 2 CB's to fend for themselves & would of proven disaster if only Duisburg had more capable strikers. What the bleep was that lil Canadian/Chinese girl doing/starting in there? She's going to be eaten up alive next week when WOB comes into town!

LIVE: VfL Wolfsburg vs 1. FFC Frankfurt
    https://www.hessenschau.de/index.html

The first half has Frankfurt's coach create his team around the idea their only going to fail lol, with Wolfsburg scoring from a well constructed counter attack developed down their opponents weakest side of the field.

This isn't the first time Essen's FB's have been a huge problem though, with Klasen's mindless runs forward sometimes leading to impressive displays of athleticism and skill, but more often creating counter attack scenarios where her team concedes LOADS of chances.

Plus looking at Essen's team, I doubt that will be their full strength 11 when they have everybody fit and available for team selection.

Islacker's somehow starting for Bayern to redeem herself
While Magull's on the bench... she's probably fighting against Roord for the same position in this Bayern team

thanks for the link! looks like more one sided schlock that's going to define the league every time either BM or WOB play. Doorsoun gets 6 min. as an FB/sub.. Hendrich playing now for BM 2nd team. Two important players for the NT, that need to be kept more busier
