KFA stated they're not looking to arrange a friendly vs Iraq.

Still unclear on when they're officially announcing their retirement.

They will most likely pull a Messi. Koo might be done though which I think might be good tactically since we can make it KCHs and Sons team without worrying about squeezing Ki and Koo on at once.

Depends on the new manager I think, but although I'm gonna miss them hard, it's also a good chance for a generational switch imo. I just hope they play at the Asian Cup for a last time (and help winning it :whistling:).

Koo is replaceable. Ki is not. But you can tell Ki is pretty much done with the KNT, unless it's WC 2022. He might come back for that.

Everyone is replacable. We're talking about post-Asian Cup and that's 'just' WC qualifiers against Asian teams. Sure, we will need time to compensate the holes that the two players leave (not only as players but leaders). But within the next 4 years, I am confident that guys like Kim Jung Min, Lee Kang In or Paik will get pro experience and step up to become senior NT material for 2022 WC. The most important will be that our U23 wins the Asian Games. Imo Son doing public service will be a bigger loss than Ki's retirement.

These are prospects tho. I know we can be overly optimistic about how hotshot prospects, but they're prospects for a reason and many hardly ever reach their potential.

Everyone thought Jung Jo Gook, Choi Tae Wook, HJH, etc. would be stars for us. Let's pump the brake here.

Ki is a 100-cap international and a veteran and generally a starter of the Premier League. He is irreplaceable at the moment.

I was misunderstanding your first comment. I thought you meant that we will never be able to replace Ki.
I meant that on long terms, we will eventually be able to replace him.
As I said, we will need time to adapt our game without him, but meanwhile other players must step up (like LJS, Son as a leader, Kwon when he comes back, etc.).
Also, we don't necessarily have to 'replace' him, but change the system. It's kind of a similar situation to post-PJS/LYP era.
On Ki's position, there are a few possible future options at least (unlike LYP...).

Of course, as you say, those prospect need to prove their hype. But the main difference is that they went to Europe at an early age. And I mentioned those who have a real chance of getting featured for their pro team in near future (well, for Paik we have to see...).

Lol these new FIFA rankings are hilarious. Apparently every team that didn't even participate at the World Cup gained 2 ranking spots...what nonsense is that? KNT gained absolutely nothing for beating a #2 ranked Euro side at a FIFA competition.

We sucked them down 14 spots but maybe our otherwise mediocre friendlies and other such showings...

Chile complained about the field being in terrible shape at the Busan Asiad Stadium, so the venue at Busan is cancelled and will be moved to either Seoul or Suwon.

Looks like we're playing Uruguay in October at the Busan stadium instead. Not sure if it means that Chile is completely cancelled or taking place at a different stadium, but the former seems likely.

With the rankings adopting the Elo system, they said the rankings should converge more with the Elo ranking with time (in which Korea is somewhere in the 20s).

I like the line up of the upcoming opponents. The KFA continues to work nicely.

Yeah, since we're unable to arrange friendlies with decent European teams due to their Euro 2020 preparations as well as the 4 nations tournament, might as well start with decent South American teams.
