Now that it’s know that Bolillo will be our new coach. What are your thoughts? Will Copa América 2019 be the year we try new players? Will Quito become our fortress again?

I highly doubt that in Quito we will hold a huge advantage anymore. Many of our players don’t even play in the high altitude at all.
Bolillo is a loser plan and simple. If somehow we do become tough in Quito again, I would bet, we will lose everywhere else.
Do you guys really think Bolillo can help Ecuador bring a Copa America? Evolve our system? Or even make it to the WC?

To me, he will be a massive failure. If we somehow make it to the World Cup, it will only be to embarrass ourselves like El Salvador did in this WC.

I think we will get results in Quito. It’s not like we have a lot of players in Europe anyways. Getting points outside? Not so much, remember going to Perú and Bolivia, those points were a given? I want to see new faces in Copa America, even if we fail like always, something that will give us hope.

Unbelievable the same coach who said at least they didn't score 10 goals on us. He will always be special to us as he gave us our first world cup berth but come on this is like dating your ex girlfriend.

I really wish That we were more nationalist. The problem is that every one looks out for the good of them selves. We really dont support nor believe in each other.

If Vizuete had skipped FIFA dates after starting FEF and everyone would have sh!tted on him. But Bolillo does it and people on futbolecuador and Facebook applaud him. We are wasting more time as it is with his lazy excuse that he needs to evaluate our players.

I really do believe that if Vizuete had stayed we would have seen a young interesting Ecuador NT in this WC. His career got ruined after Chiriboga did him dirty. The last I heard he was coaching the youth teams of El Nacho. The only thing I hope that comes from that is for that youth team to get into Copa Libertadores and have a good run like IDV recently had at youth level.

Our sub 20 nt has been Sh!t after he left.

Ima bring up another point. You guys think Bauza would spend half the year in Argentina ? Hell the f*ck no!!!! Every time some one asked him about coaching the nt he always brought up that Quito is his home he has a house there an Ecuadorian wife and son. You know how many people ive heard say they've seen him walking the streets of Quito all humble and shit as if he was just another Quiteno or Ecuadorian. Going to the markets and local stores.

When he can he still visits Quito and Liga he comes to see their games and everything cause he loves Liga and Quito.

If we are not going to support our own guys like Vizuete the least we can do is get people who have this kinda love and work ethics like Bauza does. Having a coach beg the other team not to score too much is embarassing. Having a coach that says at least we didnt lose by 10 is sad. Having a coach who half ass pick players is really just a waste why have a coach at all. Having some one spend half the year in Medellin and only show up before games... we are just throwing money away.

You guys also heard why guys like Josimar Quinteros, Jeremy Saramiento, Erick Ferigra etc were not included in the youth nt ? Cause they didnt want to pay to accomadate their trips from Europe to Ecuador.

Yet we can pay this guys luxuries and constant visists to Medellin.

Bolillo run with us in the 2006 WC was really no merit to him but the great players we had then. Again we dont have those guys anymore.

That is sad if true. It shouldn’t cost much to accommodate them for a business like FEF. They can get snatched up by other countries. I’m tired of FEF third world mentality. No wonder when I went to visit Ecuador, the stadiums and the experience was terrible. Ecuador is lagging behind so much.

My problem with players like Josimar, Sarmiento, and Feriga is that their not that good. There are several young Ecuadorians who are playing for big name teams (Chelsea, Barcelona etcc) but they dont get 1st team minutes, bench minute or even reserve calls, they're playing u18, u20, or u23 and sometimes don't start. Simply put they aren't a big deal.

I dont expect much this upcoming copa america or qualifiers all i expect is a rebuild, which is what we need. Whether we get that or another cycle of the same i dont know.

The problem in Ecuadorian futbol is that there is no passion or drive to become better or be the best. Players are called based on seniority and these senor players are extremely comfortable. Take Walter Ayovi for example this guy was getting his ass bust left right and centre and argued several times that he is still the guy for the job when Ramirez was clearly the guy. I believe we have the guys but we are lacking in several futbol aspects.

    I'm back.

I haven't posted here since early last qualifier when it seemed like things were all in our favor. A lot has changed since then and now it's time to press resume. Bolillo Gomez has returned and personally, I'm not a fan of his mentality, but I do believe we needed someone like him to repair our wounds and place us back into our reality. I mean two things by this.

#1 He's the motivator and leader we need to repair the locker room. This was destroyed during the Quinteros era, mostly due to the damage the FEF did to not provide comfort-ability to it's fullest and trying to make drastic changes that the players did not adapt to after Chiriboga left. I hope they learned from that if they are to stay (and I hope they leave). But Bolillo was ideal to create that family-oriented atmosphere and team spirit that our most successful generation of players had.

#2 We needed to get checked. We aren't who we believe to be. Some of us (and I include myself) at some moment during Rueda's cycle and after, believed we were a world class top team ready to stay in a top 10 ranking. Bolillo has came back to let us know we are not that, but that we have potential to re-build and become great. Expectations should always be high, but how were we expecting so much when many of our players were in terrible moments during the Quinteros cycle. We needed this reality check.

Unfortunately, we lost a great generation of players that could've shined in this past World Cup. I speak of a players like Enner, Miller, Felipe, Antonio, Cazares, Arturo Mina, Luis Caicedo, Pedro Velasco, Jefferson Orejuela- majority who would've been at a prime age to have a great WC. Most of them guys will be retired, way past 30, or turning 30 by the next WC. It's a wasted generation who could've done more, but didn't get there due to internal matters. Now we have to re-start.

I've sat back and created a list of players that i consider important in this cycle. Many of them won't make it through the entire run due to age, form, or because they just aren't NT quality. Here is where I think we should begin:

    GK:
    Maximo Banguera
    Alexander Dominguez
    Hamilton Piedra

    Under observation:
    Brian Heras

    Defense:
    Antonio Valencia
    Mario Pineida
    Andres Lopez
    Cristian Ramirez
    Robert Arboleda
    Xavier Arreaga
    Dario Aimar (currently injured)
    Anderson Ordonez
    Franklin Guerra

    Under observation:
    Cristian Cruz
    Pedro Velasco
    Arturo Mina
    Luis Caicedo
    Diego Palacios
    Erick Ferigra
    Frickson Erazo

    Midfield:
    Fernando Gaibor
    Sebastian Mendez
    Jose Cevallos Jr.
    Jefferson Orejuela
    Renato Ibarra
    Ayrton Preciado
    Junior Sornoza
    Cristian Penilla

    Under observation:
    Jordan Sierra
    Carlos Gruezo
    Johan Julio
    Jefferson Montero
    Billy Arce
    Juan Cazares
    Bryan Cabezas

    Forwards:
    Bryan Angulo
    John Cifuente
    Miller Bolanos
    Erick Castillo

    Under observation:
None at the moment I can think of

    Starting 11:
Dominguez; Antonio, Arboleda, Ordonez, Ramirez; Orejuela, Mendez; Ibarra, Sornoza, Castillo; Angulo

You got Dominguez? You lost me there. That dude has been out of the loop for about 2 years.

No disrespect, but you must have been out of loop the last two years. Dominguez had an excellent run in Colon de Santa Fe in Argentina last year, which is why he is in a big team like Velez Sarsfield now where he's a starter and performing up to par.

I'm guessing I'm not sure what "out of the loop" signifies, because if Dominguez is out of the loop, then we basically have no keeper.

To go beyond that, name one keeper better than him at the moment? The only one close to him is Banguera. Piedra is still ripe compared to them, but he's growing. Pedro Ortiz and Johan Padilla are far below a NT expectation at the moment. And Brian Heras is in his first season as a starter, doing well, but has A LOT to learn. Especially when coming out the box to clear a ball, but he's a good option to observe for the future....and yeah, like I said, not one other option.

What do you guys think of the call up? Stiven Plaza looks like a beast! I know it’s early, but I can’t wait to see him play. With him and Cifuente up top could be a killer combo.

    Arqueros:
    Pedro Ortiz (Delfín SC)
    Hamilton Piedra (IDV)

    Defensas:
    Xavier Arreaga (BSC)
    Mario Pineida (BSC)
    Carlos Cuero (Deportivo Cuenca)
    Franklin Guerra (LDU)
    Félix Torres (BSC)

    Volantes
    Jéfferson Orejuela (LDU)
    Sebastián Méndez (IDV)
    Jéfferson Intriago (LDU)
    Ángelo Preciado (IDV)
    Alan Franco (IDV)
    Luis Chicaiza (Delfín SC)
    Roberto Garcés (El Nacional)
    Fernando Guerrero (LDU)
    Anderson Julio (LDU)
    Johan Julio (LDU)

    Delanteros:
    Brayan Angulo (Emelec)
    Jorge Ordóñez (El Nacional)
    Joao Rojas (Emelec)
    Stiven Plaza (IDV)
    John Cifuente (Universidad Católica)

You didn’t see his trash performances at Monterrey? He couldn’t handle the pressure and competition from average goalkeepers. He must have a good agent shopping him around big teams.

Thats was one season tho. He is in excelent form now. He left Liga in a pretty mehh form. TBH it wasnt the best time for him to make that kind of move.

But his season with Colon was great. He was the best player multiple times, kept clean sheets and made vital saves. He was important to them classifying to Copa Sudamericana. I saw his debut game with Velez and he did great as well and made 2 vital saves. He kept a clean sheet there as well.

It would be pretty rediculous not to include the only GK we have in el Exterior at this level who is doing well.

Monterrey was 2016. Like I said, you must have been out of the loop the last two years because he hasn't been in Monterrey since then. He's played in Colon de Santa Fe and now Velez- both places where he's done well. Did you see his season in Colon? That's why he's in Velez Sarsfield starting every game.

It's like if I'd be over here talking about Banguera's 2014-2015 seasons which were also bad. Does anyone remember how Banguera's performances were on decline? I remember Damian Lanza was even getting a significant number of games in back then because of it.

Point of the matter- what happened two years ago is irrelevant. I'm talking about today. And today, Dominguez is a starter in a top team in Argentina and has been performing prior to that (in Colon).

Dude can’t cut it when it gets tough. He’s average at best. If he was this good we would not be discussing this cause the position would be his already. L.D.U. bias.

Im the last person to show bias Ill defend players on merit alone regardless of team.

If the defense is up to par he will preform great and secure clean sheets. We have a handful of good defenders now so that wont be an issue. Dida is entering a moment I have been waiting for him to enter and I have been waiting to see be accomplished by an Ecuadorian goalkeeper in el Exterior.

When was the last time an Ecuadorian goalkeeper had this kind of playing time in el Exterior. Rorys Arragon ??? This dude compared to Dida hasnt won anything and he came back to Ecuador just to disappear. Who was the last Ecuadorian GK we had in Argentina. Carlos Luis Morales??? He spent 2 years there and was a second choice GK.

Now we have Dida killing it in a top Argentinian team and you know I am going to give him the starting position no questions asked. If he was a product of Emelec or BSC I would feel the same way given this kind of success.

My issue with Banguera is dudes never really been fiscally fit and that being said he cant make acrobatic saves he often lets him self get beat at saves that are jumping/diving distance. Dominguez is taller can dive/ jump to make saves a lot better than Banguera.

When rumors came out that Pachuca was interested in Banguera I was praying it would come threw and he would make the move for his career and to see what he can do in the MX league. Also to see who BSC would chose as their 1st choice GK. Ayrton Morales was still with them at the time and i was hoping a guy like him would get a spot in the first team. Dudes in Emelec now Behind Dreer and Bone. Bone was a dumb move dont know why Emelec did that. But I still hope he breaks threw cause I did enjoy his performances when he started and would still keep my eye on him.

Point is this dude for the most part has done everything we would want in a gk to start for the NT.

    Played WC
    Has Recopa
    Copa Sudamericana
And now made the jump to El exterior

    Banguera has ....

Im not a fan of Dreer mostly because he is foreign but aside from that struggles to keep clean sheets often has had some poor performances in copa. He is not a well rounded.

All other GK are just Breaking in and still dont have anything to compete with Dida. All teams aside he is the best choice we have.

Below is Bolillo's roster for the games vs. Jamaica and Guatemala. For starters, I wanted to point out I'm a bit concerned with the inclusion some of these players and the missing names of obvious ones that should be included.

I'll begin with the inclusion of certain players:
    1. Pedro Ortiz? Hamilton Piedra is a better option, he's younger, and he is showing growth. Ortiz is a great 4th option on the NT. Not sure if Bolillo has Piedra in consideration in his top 3 and just wants to give Ortiz a chance to showcase himself? But as far as who is NT material at the moment, it's Piedra. This to me was a random inclusion. The fact that Banguera wasn't included, I understood....Bolillo wants to give other keepers a chance that haven't had opportunities AND others like Dominguez he wants to see since they've been distant from the NT for a while now.

    2. Exon Vallecilla. Not familiar with him honestly. I've seen Cuenca play a number of games this season, but I'm not familiar with who he is and by the looks of it he's only played 10 games (started 6) this season and they were all in the Primera Etapa. Why is Bolillo calling a 19 year old kid who doesn't even play in his club? VERY ODD. Where is Franklin Guerra? Easily the best center back of the Campeonato? The fact that he's not on the roster is ridiculous. If Anderson Ordonez would've been in full health, he should ve also been included. There has been no better duo than Ordonez-Guerra in the Campeonato this year.

    3. JC Paredes? This is not what I call renovation. Does Bolillo just want to see how much more he has left in him? I don't see Paredes on this NT. His time has been up. Where is Andres Lopez on this list? How many more good seasons does he need to be on the NT? He's had 2 or 3 in a row so far. I think his chance is well deserved.

    4.
John Espinoza. This kid barely started playing in Aucas in the Segunda etapa if I'm not mistaken. I've seen his games. Interesting player, but he's 19 years old and RIPE. Doesn't deserve NT at the moment. That's just pure honesty. You don't play a few games in first division and all of the sudden deserve to be on the NT. Some players get f*cked with because you are speeding up the process entirely. Cristian Cruz or Anibal Chala could've easily gotten this opportunity due to their great

    5. Frickson Erazo....Didn't play much in Vasco and currently can't play the rest of this season. WHY is a player with no team, no minutes, and no activity PERIOD on the NT roster? 30 years old, so he's not an "experiment". Where's Franklin Guerra? Why is Xavier Arreaga or Felix Torres who has been killing it in BSC....both young and doing well in a top team. Don't understand this move. Yes, Erazo is a phenomenal leader. You can tell just why the way the man communicates and I know Bolillo loves leaders.....but he's NOT PLAYING right now. How does this help our former issue with Quinteros? Calling up players that are inactive!

    6. Romario Ibarra isn't starting in his club team. Not sure why he was included. Penilla has been the star for New England Revolution scoring and assisting. Same with Joao Plata in Real Salt Lake. Where are these two players? I'd consider them better options and their merits speak highly of them vs. Romario Ibarra.

    7. I'll be soft on Renato Ibarra and Ayrton Preciado...why? Because Renato can easily snap back into his best form and claim his starting spot in America. Ayrton is new in Santos. Not a fan of his style of playing, but I'll give him another opportunity. Who would I have chosen in this position? Erick Castillo and Cristian Penilla/Joao Plata. I would've even gone for the one of the Julio brothers from Liga. I'll even give you Joao Rojas from Emelec.

    8. What-the-f*ck is Enner doing on this list over Bryan Angulo? That's probably everyone's question. The man doesn't play in Tigres. Angulo is THE #9 of the NT at this moment along with Cifuente if he doesn't commit another stupid mistake that takes him out for good....but Enner? He should be no where near this list.

No complaints on the midfield. I may have tweaked it with 1 or two players, but the guys he called up are all deserving.

    Below is the list.

    Arqueros

Alexander Domínguez (Vélez Sarsfield – ARG)
    Pedro Ortiz (Delfín SC)

    Defensas
    Frickson Erazo (sin equipo)
