Guess we may end up with Marlos whos approaching his final year contract and is at 30s. Didn't really know him but from what I watch in Youtube and people commenting, he seems super underrated and may really turn out to be a steal for us, dude plays like Messi.......
I read recently that Roma denies interest in Marlos and that Monchi isn't convinced by him, but who knows. I'd prefer to pick him up instead of splashing 40m on some youngster. EIther way, I don't believe our mercato is over. We're just weighing our options. Perhaps the two names that popped up recently (Ndombele, Herrera) are simply smoke screens for Nzonzi. If we're offering 25m and Sevilla want 30m, surely a middle ground can be found.
So Fiorentina is getting Pjaca and probably Mirallas too. IMO Chiesa is coming. Xhaka would be a great pick too, I don't think we should overpay for him though.
Xhaka was one of the best midfielders in Bundasliga before joining Arsenal, they have a tendency of f*cking players up. Look at Lacazette, he’s been piss poor for Arsenal, doesn’t mean he’s not a quality player. Give me Xhaka all day
He was one of their best players against us in the champions league. Looks like a legends player with that silver head of hair. Seems a smart player. For the noney involced it don't be a big issue and he could turn out to be very useful to rotate.
Apparently we can potentially land Marlos for well.under 20 million. Seems like a smart acquisition if we're really just looking for a skilled depth winger.
Suso says again that he loves it at Milan, so I don't see us going for him. Probably not worth their asking price anyway. Il Romanista reported a few days ago that EDF also considers Kluivert or Schick for the right wing, so it's unclear if we'll sign anyone there at all.
Everyone likes it at Milan. Big salaries, zero expectations, easy starting spots. They don't bring in the type of players who'd strive to excel and make the next step in a better ran club like ours, where they'll have to face competition and expectations for pretty much the same money. That's why I dislike the idea of dealing with Milan when it comes to transfers - they'll either buy your players and ruin them with their retirement home policies or they'll send you people for whom getting paid has become the main and only goal in their careers, because they'll hardly earn more per annum than Milan's inflated evaluation of their skills. I'd be content with Kluivert/Schick covering for Under, if we keep Verde as well. How bad could he possibly be? I remember him doing impressive stuff a few years back.
Id be all for giving Verde another shot to prove himself. However, I don't think he'd be keen on the idea of being at the very bottom of the pecking order.
#Monchi: “We are looking for opportunities rather than profiles. The most important purchases have already been made.” https://t.co/fLBcUGixaN— RomaPress (@ASRomaPress) August 4, 2018
This is probably wise. Unless an opportunity presents itself, lets see how things play out. I'm more than willing to give Gonalons until Jan to prove himself. His plays was getting much better by the end of the season. SES and Kluivert can cover RW.
If something makes sense , sure. I don't think it's really that beneficial for us to completely shun them. It hurts us much more than it would hurt them. Besides, it's really Bordeaux we should be upset with, imo. As for Mina, he's intriguing , but I wouldn't pay 40m for him- it's too risky for Roma. Let United take the expensive punt. Something better will present itself in time.
http://sportwitness.co.uk/crystal-palace-presented-option-midfielder-now-decision-make/ The article suggests it's pretty much Crystal Palace or Roma for Gonalons. If that's the case, I expect he stays. Everton was probably the best chance for him to leave.
When I wrote this few days ago I had this guy in mind: Today we are linked to him. He is strong defensively with decent skills. He is 22 years old and his contract expires next year, his price should be around 15M.
