Given that there's been no news of a signing and Ledezma returned to the US for the U20 camp, is it safe to assume that the trial was unsuccessful?
http://www.americansoccernow.com/ar...he-expense-of-rsl-rooney-magnificent-and-more ASN has learned that prized prospect Richie Ledezma is on the verge of signing with a club in Holland. Along with Taylor Booth to Bayern Munich and Sebastian Soto to Hannover, Ledezma will complete a trio of players that have left RSL academy for free.
Highly disconcerting for RSL, but at some point they have to be at fault right? They need to hedge their bets somehow.
It doesn't always work out. Lennon tried his luck elsewhere, and then he went back. Bofo Saucedo was an academy project too, and he's stayed to become pretty decent.
Well, you can't force someone to sign a contract, especially when the player is balancing college vs. the pros.
My lazy ass clicked the translate button and got this.... looks like verbal commitment and moving January? PSV makes work from American talent Ledezma PSV hopes to be able to capture Richie Ledezma at the end of this year, a talented American who was on an internship this summer. Rik Elfrink 05-09-18, 00:17 PSV has a lot of interest in the American Richard (Richie) Ledezma, who can play for the Eindhoven club from the winter break. The midfielder from the United States will be 18 years old on Thursday and will also have his own ears for an adventure in Eindhoven. He was in the summer on internship at De Herdgang and came out in early July in practice matches of Young PSV with Young FC Utrecht and Darlington FC. Ledezma now plays for Real Monarchs and was selected for American Youth Interests. The young promise reached a good level in the practice matches with Jong PSV and during the training sessions, as a result of which PSV kept in touch with him. Chances are that the parties will come to a long-term cooperation at the end of the year. Ledezma still has to be medically approved and sign a contract under a multi-year contract. During the exhibition games he fell in a positive way and despite his youthful age he had no hesitation in claiming the ball and was easy to play. Game distributor Presumably it is not until the end of this year that the parties reach a final agreement, if all oral agreements have been worked out properly. Ledezma can play in multiple positions and, if he develops well, can become a game distributor for the future. Based on international regulations, he can not sign a contract as a non-EU player until his eighteenth birthday (ie Thursday) and come into action for PSV from 1 January. The transfer market is locked up until that date.
This Rik Elfrink guy is the one with the very best inside information on PSV. Actually I think he's being kept informed before any other journalist by PSV. So one can safely rely on Ledezma signing a contract after he's 18 and the usual medicals etc. have been done.
Any insight on if he'll be able to play for the O19s, Jong PSV, or the senior team right away? You may be aware we've had issues with guys getting registered in Germany on time, and considering the registration window closed a few days ago in the Netherlands, I'm curious if he'll be able to play in any competitive matches.

Am I interpreting it correctly that he can sign a contract Thursday, once he turns 18, but can't actually play for the big club till January 1? Can he play for the reserve/youth teams till then? Or am I just way off?
