I think we need to change the philosophy of the team, get rid of some older players and restructure the youth system. keep making back passes and squared passes for the sake of possession is stupid, and it really discourage some of our more creative players. They dont take risk and make a more adventurous pass, they are too comfortable and easy. We can no longer play possession football and high line defense. Its mainly because we lack some of the important elements in possession football: Pressing, mobility, off-the-ball movement, discipline. Without the required pressing, we cant play high line If the old and young players dont get along, always prefer the younger ones. Experience is overrated and the older players actually lack the hunger after winning the WC in 2014. We need to end the false 9 experiments ASAP, we need to develop strikers. We have a big bunch of deep-lying playmakers like Kroos, Gundogan and co. But we start to use a destroyer in the midfield a bit more. That should be the change in our youth ranks I hope we will see this team in 2020: ------------------------------ter Stegen ----Kimmich---------Sule----------Rudiger----------Max ---------------------------------Kehrer -----------------------Emre Can-----Kroos ----Gnabry------------------Fullkrug--------------------Sane sub: GK) Leno, Horn RB) Weiser CB) Vogt, Ginter LB) Hector CM) Goretzka, Weigl, Gundogan Wing/AM) Brandt, Havertz CF) Selke, Timo Werner
For city he plays as a deep lying play maker, but they have a system where they all seem to interchange, that's the problem with loew he seems clueless, whilst gardiolas system is so fluid
Löw also has a system where all midfielders fluidly interchange. Sometimes, Kroos and Khedira go forward, but sometimes Khedira and Kroos go forward. And occasionally, one of them goes forward, while the other goes missing.
I find Hummels to be the only guy acting like a proper leader - but maybe the others don't like him? My theory about team mates not being on the Kroos train also seems to be correct. Khedira never should have been selected as far as he goes
interesting that Kovac said this Feels like he knows modern football better than Loew He knows this and Loew doesn’t
maybe he is just a decent man with honest opinion. He always gives me impression he is a good guy as a person. That mistake (leaving earlier in a match) was just a mistake people makes in life. Shame that Loew doesn't forgive mistake of other people while he has made so many mistakes himself. I always think Kuranyi in his prime could have contributed a lot to the national team.
According to the 'Frankfurter Rundschau', an analysis made by Joachim Loew and Oliver Bierhoff, "that the departure of assistant Hansi Flick after the 2014 World Cup as a glue between national coach, players and the so-called team behind the team has torn a much larger gap , as all those involved admitted so far ". they also say that him returning for a role is possible. It's been obvious for awhile that Schneider and Sorg are useless.
I had notcied long ago that after Schneider's appointment, the national team had played a lot slower than the past when Flick was the assistant coach...
also Flick is the reason as to why we scored so many set pieces in WC14. from Bild awhile ago. Low has learned this year who he can rely on - and who not. That goes for his coaching team as well as for the players. Gratitude will play no role in the next international match on 6 September against France, but only performance.
Sometimes I can't understand why Loew can't give people a second chance, people like Kuranyi, Kruse or Stefan Kießling, or even Patrick Helmes, it seems a player once is disgarded for whatever reason, he will never be given a second chance by Loew even the player is playing well, I just don't get this thinking at all... the list of these players is long: Kramer, Bender brothers the most recent one
it's because he blacklists them, it's obvious he never liked those players to begin with. Guys he likes he keeps around.
That is just not right, a top manager or coach should be able to work with people whom he doesn't like, personal feeling should give way to the benifit of the team, that not only apply to players, but also coach himself...
It's quite easy to understand: He is a sadistic asshole who uses stupid, often constructed reasons to get rid of people who "disobeyed" him. Kuranyi on the other hand is a nice and friendly simpleton, who acts like an ill-treated dog and comes back time and time again, hoping for one last caress.
your analogy is a bit extrem regarding Kuranyi though I agree mostly. Kuranyi indeed is a nice and friendly simpleton.
Brandt, MaTS, Sule and Goretzka were the key men from that squad who made the WC. I imagine all 4 of them were upset about not starting. Especially when our midfield and wingers (Khedira, Mueller, Draxler) were performing like dogshit.
Biehoff is trying to survive by playing captain hindsight "We should have considered not taking Özil" https://www.welt.de/sport/fussball/...egen-muessen-ob-man-auf-Oezil-verzichtet.html behind a paywall unfortunately
Nevermind. This ones for apologists like @Dage @Rosebud and @The Jitty Slitter "We never forced players to do something, but always tried to convince them in the matter. In the case of Mesut we failed." Meanwhile Khedira confirmed "the whole matter had been a very big issue within the team". Bierhoff went on to differentiate between Özil and Gündogan: "Gündogan went on to be openly speaking about the matter. And still he continuously was criticized as hard as Özil. https://www.sport1.de/fussball/fifa...=Social&utm_source=Twitter#Echobox=1530809480
@Lewisfromuk Bild | One of Joachim Löw's current assistants Thomas Schneider and Marcus Sorg is expected to leave and make way for a return of Löw's 2014 assistant Hansi Flick. pic.twitter.com/eqP003QmLR— Bayern & Germany (@iMiaSanMia) July 5, 2018 it needs to be done, those guys are not good enough. If Flick's role was as stated above than he was an important piece of the 2014 WC win.
