You can’t be seriously suggesting that Pickford can take a chance on that being just wide of the target, if in doubt, he has to attempt the save. I have no problem with that save tbh, he can’t take a chance.

Stupidly I read some of the posts, what a bunch of bitter morons but hardly surprising tbh, most hate us and tbh I couldn’t care less.

He wouldn't be so insecure if he was a bit taller.
Also, Pickford forgot to credit the crossbar when hitting back at Courtois. The crossbar kept out one pen, Pickford kept out one as well.

Kidding aside, good luck with the rest of the World Cup. Now that the Brazil match is lined up I had a change of heart about our path. Can't wait, really looking forward to it. We'll find out soon enough if we can punch above our weight or not. Could be a hell of a match.

Yeah, good luck to you guys too, I really hope you will spank Brazil and shut up their entitled fans. I seriously think you will beat them, you have more than enough fire power.

Winning on pens has given the squad a massive lift. I think it did more for us to win this way ,then winning 1-0 in normal time. As you saw with Croatia , they were on cloud 9 after winning in the same way.

They've made history. They will always be the England team that won a penalty shoot out at a World Cup for the first time at the fourth attempt. I think most people would have judged a qtr final place following 2 group stage wins as a success before the tournament started. No doubt at all about that now they have also won a shoot out. A win on Saturday and they have matched the 1990 side including Waddle, Barnes and Lineker going forward with Butcher and (you'll never beat) Des Walker at the back. That would be seriously into returning heroes at Heathrow territory. They must be absolutely buzzing with what they achieved in that shoot out.

England did that against Tunisia in the first 20 minutes, but yesterday the attacking play was ponderous and uninspired. After the Colombian goal England's attacks meant that someone started carrying the ball until he ran into a Colombian defender. Southgate must make some changes those 3 attacking players behind Kane (Lingard, Alli, Sterling) were woeful.

Just on last night, I really hope Southgate has a word with the players about diving, I wasn’t overly happy about McGuires and Lingards theatrics tbh. We need to cut this stuff out, there is no point especially now with VAR.

It’s quite funny. Especially love the hate from the Dutch guy Cruyff or whatever his name is when they didn’t even qualify haha

Brazilians and Argentinians hate us but it’s laughable that they believe the penalty on Kane was harsh. Lmao it was a stonewall clear penalty and Lingard should have had one too, plus a red card for the headbutt. The red was very kind to Colombia

That thread is a joke tbh and it shows when the South Americans are trying to convince themselves that we were the dirty team, it’s just laughable and I just haven’t the time nor can I be bothered to respond to such nonsense!

Ps: need to send @LorneMarvello there, he loves that sort of stuff, especially with that sad Dutch guy :ROFLMAO:

Is the Dutch guy Dutch? He was coming across as a Scotsman from what I could be bothered to read.

I definitely saw Courtois pushing out Japanese shots that were going wide. And he feels the need to publicly criticize a fellow keeper. And yet Pickford is the insecure one. Got it.

big difference having a captain like Kane.
Compared to low energy Rooney who coasted through games in 1st gear.

Ok, sorry yeah don’t think he’s Dutch, has Germany as his Country but looking through his posts he hasn’t posted on their forum so you could be right about him being Scottish and would make sense about being bitter. Lol

Alli, terrible, Henderson, terrible, Southgate player management and substitutions, terrible. Pickford with a great save though! He still seems a little uncoordinated. Big win though. Should have never got to penalties.

That match needed a player like Wilshere to control midfield and move the ball better. Henderson is a lump, slow and gives the ball away.

Southgate is terrible tactically and with player management, but might still have enough to see it through to the final. I didn't have a problem with Dier coming on however. Why in the hell can"t Walker play in the final third like he has done time and time again for club? It would be nice if he could free that right side up and deliver some crosses.

Kane was a beast yesterday. Besides the pk, he won countless free kicks. You could tell that he had run out of gas towards the end, but he played with a ton of heart.
