Kane has played out his skin to cover for some bum performances from others.. Sterling , Lingard and Dele have been shocking.
Ignore the haters. Brazil, Croatia and every other team except Belgium looked shit in their last 16 game. Tournament football is all about finding a way to win and we did that. Should’ve been a red card and another pen to us - how naive of that defender to hold Kane down again! Sweden will be more of a chance I feel, this Columbia team were good but really they didn’t deserve to beat us. Glad we finally won a shootout! Worrying how we sat back late on in the game but we didn’t give them many chances
Kane was brilliant and used his head superbly imo. He knew exactly what the Colombian players would do and drew foul after foul.
I thought Sterling was the only one with Kane who tried to be positive, didn't have much success but at least he tried to face the game and to play forward. Southgate's choices really put us on the back foot, especially Dier coming in for an attacking midfielder, hopefully he learns from it but I'm a bit sceptical as it's not a first. Still happy we're still alive obviously. Kane and Stones were the 2 best performances IMO.
Belgium looked shit too,completely open at the back. Japan threw it away. If not for that lucky goal Belgium would be out.
One thing they're saying on the TV which I agree with is that it took tremendous courage to keep going and come back after they pegged us back in the last minute of normal time.

This is why I have been calling for Pickford to be starter for months. I knew if it came to a shootout he would make saves. Something Hart or Butland would not do .
Henderson with a 65 % pass accuracy. not acceptable. At the very least he needs someone like Loftus Cheek in central midfield next to him.
I think we can all accept that this squad has obvious limitations and Southgate is pretty awful (to say the least) tactically at times. This team has shown alot of character and winning at least one knockout game was vital after the last few campaigns.
