Pretty sure Tabarez is keeping tabs on this thread. The fact that we called out these two things before the WC started and then reiterated it during the Cup is too much of a coincidence. But I’m pretty sure Hierro must have searched on YouTube for commentary and came across your video. The fact that the media wasn’t even rumoring an Iniesta benching and then out of the blue, he’s on the bench is telling. We were slamming Tabarez on this thread for reverting back to the old guard and he changed things vs Russia. He’s lurking BigSoccer.

I wish Löw was lurking BigSoccer too. :D

The thing that makes it odd is that I know you read a ton of media/twitter shiit and you haven't seen anyone with these opinions. Uruguay is so small that if they were calling for the new guard I think we would have seen it. I've known people with say have examined our stuff about brasileirão players , private messages from scouts , ect but wouldn't have guessed it about international teams lol.

@Mengão86 you were awfully nervous during the game today lol. Brazil was bossing that shiit after the first 25 minutes. Also I thought once the game settled down , especially in the second half that fagner looked pretty good , wbu?

Brazil in World Cups have been very Fla-like in their last two appearances, so I guess that really factored. The whole Melo thing vs the Netherlands and melting down on home soil are all very Fla-esque.

I agree that Fagner looked better in the second half, but I still think he's the weak point in our starting 11 (and Danilo is worse). That should tell you how much I am valuing Alves right about now. With the way Willian played today, Alves was going to eat if he was in there. It probably wouldn't have been a close game.

Japan , stop pressing , get in a fukin shell and hit them on the counter. Ffs don't let Belgium play on the counter. They'll start cracking with a good shell and then turn the ball over.

Yeah. They have talent and they were blowing out teams in the group stages. In a WC where the favourites look fairly unconvincing or have been knocked out, that's only natural.

I feel like It's time to respect this Japan side a bit. They've done well.

Why ? They are very average. Should I say they are better than Poland or Senegal ? And they got lucky against Colombia

At some point It's not luck. I'm not saying they're better, but they're on the same level as Poland.

And @MatthausSammer us three have been yelling from the rafters how to exploit a tactically unorganized Belgium side for a month and their best player goes milk carton every game and de Bruneer is being used completely out of position , let's not get to the defense , shape , etc. Like I said , it's not NBA. Even in their friendlies they looked like this. So Japan is better than Tunisia and Panama ? Fair enough lol.

It's luck , did you see the play ? 88 minutes up one man and still didn't deserve the result.

Their defense and midfield were caught ball watching on both goals.

Definition of woodshed. Wanted to see tite spit up the saw dust of what was left of his reputation but this works given casemiro is out next game.

Martinez is about go old school EPL and have Belgium throw a bunch of crosses in the box and hope Fellaini does something. Pathetic.

You can get lucky in a game, not multiple games. Japan have done well is all I'm saying.

I really wanted Belgium TBH because I thought Tite would have given him a masterclass. Yeah, i didn't think highly of Martinez before, but I didn't think he'd get taken to the woodshed like this against an inferior side with a no name manager. If I were the Belgian FA, I'd fire him in the locker room right after the game. Embarassing.

Does someone want to tell me what Witsel does well? At least if they took Nainggolan, he'd offer the threat of long distance shots.

Belgium remind me of a more direct variant of Germany right now.
Uhh... He's big, he has an afro, and he can back pass?
