    Hi everyone,

A friendly reminder: we're all here for the football. With that in mind, we here are taking a zero-tolerance policy towards expressions of racism, sexism, discrimination based on sexual orientation, xenophobia, ad hominem attacks, insults (towards a group of people, countries, or fellow posters) and trolling. Infractions will get you booked - and if you ask where was your warning, this is it. If you see a fellow poster insulting you or a part of your identity (race, sex, nationality, etc.)? Don't respond in kind - REPORT IT. It is the fastest way for us mods to handle the offending posts.

So, with that said, good luck to both sides, and let's enjoy!

I have to admit that Russia has played a lot better than I thought they would. Kudos to them for advancing and bringing some joy to their fans.

That being said, their party is over today. Spain should smash them.

I have to say is that I will be quite interested to watch this game. It will give a better sense of where Spain really stand, while I do have a good enough sense about Russia. They hosts, are pumped up as such, and have a couple of good players that can be cause trouble. Overall, though, they wouldn't be here if they weren't hosts and, possibly, if they had to fight it out in another group. One which wouldn't take them out of their dull drums by getting their campaign started off with a 5:0 thrashing of Saudi Arabia.

I am expecting a tight game...nothing has been easy for Spain and like Germany they have a stunning lack of pace save for Jordi Alba.

Can Golovin have the game of his life? I would prefer if Spain move on but I expect nothing less than a grind.

I see Spain have Asensio in their 4-2-3-1 which is good. Russia go 3-4-2-1

I just can't see Russia slowing down Silva, Isco and Asesio. Plus Costa will have his way with their CBs.
    I see at least a 3-0.

I don’t see Spain winning this. Ramos looked like he was about to lose.

Russia against all odds is my pick

The first few minutes it already looks like the battle of Stalingrad...one-way street...

This is Spain, but they are being shockingly inaccurate with their passing in these first 5 minutes. I've seen more missed 5 yard passes as we'd expect to see.over an entire game.

Of course, not having Iniesta may have something to do with that.

    This game is over people.
The fans seemed more nervous than excited. The team did not have good energy.
The goal will make things worse. Things could get ugly here unless they show some fight.
