I just watched the replay and i find it amusing that shin didn’t tell his players to push forward until the 80th minute... 1-0 down with like 30 minutes to go and the team continued to sit back and pass the ball in their half while sweden was applying “some” pressure in our half... meanwhile jang, the useless cnt, continued to waste balls by blasting them to no mans land and/or feeding them to lee yong, who then proceeded to waste even more posession by gifting it to sweden with his horrendous crossing. Also, who the fck is in charge of the training drills. The fullbacks are completely useless at tackling. Nevermind the penalty, kim minwoo kept tackling without success throughout the entire match... is this guy seriously being paid in real money to play professionally??

I also used to think knt’s strength was in its midfield, but holy shit was the midfield nonexistent... koo kept slowing down the play with mistakes and ki was nowhere to be found. Lee Jae-sung wasn’t doing much either until the very end when he tried to assist Hwang who then crumbled and missed korea’s best chance. Didn’t help that sweden was quick to foul when they lost posession. Son kept switching wings and tracking back as a wingback when he shouldve fcking stayed forward for the fcking counters... how is no one in the knt staff not calling out coach shittaeyong on these blaring mistakes...

This is just tears. I got so anxious and angry after this miss that I had to walk away. Somebody needs to slap him with a used condom for this miss.

Tbf, I can't blame the midfield when they are told to cover for our defence. They just couldn't play their game...

Im not blaming the players except for the fullbacks and that jang retard... but im just shocked at how shit the tactics were in its entirety. Literally NOTHING good came from this defensive formation... not a single thing...

However, Koo had one of the worst games ive seen from him. He used to be quick and agile and today he looked like an 80 year old with arthritis.

Yeah he just came back from injury. Still better than most CMs we have.

Okay, I have a question. I'm re-watching the highlights for the Russia friendly before the World Cup. I want to see STY's KNT leading up to the WC playing an away game.

What boggles my mind is that in the friendly, our players seem to be at least passing the ball smoothly, and with a sense of velocity. Today (and in Bolivia friendly), every one of our passes looked as if the ball was made of concrete.

What's the cause of the difference? Am I watching it wrong? Must it be the poor conditioning?

He needs to improve his decision making, but the problem is that with his technique he can go only so far.

And when i'm saying he's overrated, i am talking about people who think he can do actually well at BVB or in a club of that level. No way he can, he's not good enough for BVB, and it's never going to be.

Is this player normally capable of putting shots like this in the back of the net? If no, why are you mad at him? I’m not really all that familiar with the guy but after watching that clip 3 times it’s readily apparent he’s out of his depth. I feel bad for him but anger isn’t an emotion that registered.

Offensive lineup should be a 4-4-2 with:
    • SHM & HHC up top
    • LSW & LJS on the wings
    • KSY & GYH as the two CMs
The focus needs to be releasing SHM, and to a lesser extent HHC and LSW, out in to open space on counterattacks. GYH has to be very active defensively to open things up for Ki.

This is a no nonsense, simple 4-4-2 similar to the one we saw against Colombia, which in my opinion would've been our best option against Sweden. I think it's the only legitimate option this team has.

I thought STY basically had no choice but to play this same lineup all three games, and was hoping that STY's "trick" was hiding that he'd set up the team like this. Unfortunately, his trick ended up being KSW.

He showed rust of not playing for months let alone not well integrated into a team where he had minimal match prep.

Koo should have taken over for HHC. There he can run and battle just like HHC but he knows how to pass unlike HHC

    On yesterdays game;
Sh*t Tae Yong's tactics were garbage.
Every single player basically has arrows to go everywhere on the pitch box to box...
The ugliest game of the world cup so far; no flow, defense; no composure but we knew this already.
Feel bad for SHM tbh ... KFA is garbage.

Playing with a player lacking basic skills for 90 is asking for offensive cohesion problems. Given that Son can be really inconsistent in terms of linking well...

To be honest I don't know what the gameplay is. I mean we use 뻥축구 against sweden who are taller and much physically gifted than us. If you gonna use뻥축구 please do it against mexico. Ffs

just that they know they don't believe in themselves, no confidence in their manager, lame duck captain...hence, as a grounp may not care.

but youngsters like LSW MSM HHC SHM might be excited but...

STY will now start LSW against Mexico and KSW will come on at min 90+ when Korea are trailing 0-2. That is all because he is such a bad ass no one can predict. "난 놈" After 3 losses he will still claim that KFA owe him the position until 2022. If he is sacked he will play victim. He is a modern day 봉이 김선달, the most prolific swindler Korea has ever known.

Different opinion, but I think he does plenty of useless/generic passes (back passes or short passes to a player very near to him) while not being able to pass the important ones. Yes he runs well, but then he does his stupid turns when he shouldn't and gives away the chance to counter/do the last pass. Probably he should've started up front as you say, but IMO his chemistry with Son is terrible (or at least in that one game he played with Son up front). I'm not completely disagreeing with you. Probably he's better up front in STY's system. But I was talking about him in general. In Augsburg he's also not performing the same way like he did in the past. I have the feeling that he'll lose his starting position next season, especially since he has to play in CM because of Gregoritsch.

Said in the World Cup Russia thread but will repeat here because it is important, and in the off chance that someone remotely connected to the KFA idiots will read.

Korea needs to play a defense that resembles the "press" in basketball, where you aggressively pressure the ball, almost everywhere, to force turnovers and easy chances. This will require EXTREME conditioning and a VERY AGGRESSIVE mentality. This is the ONLY way to compete as the type of footballing country we are. Even my wife realizes this and she looks like a Korean version of Kate Upton (no exaggeration).

This is getting seriously embarrassing. Local media here in Australia regurgitating every single piece of trash coming out if this fool's mouth... and you wonder why Western media won't stop stereotyping Asian players as being weak and small. I see KSW did an admirable job compensating for that didn't he..

Someone can fact check this if they want, but I believe our team's average height was only 2-3cm/1" or so shorter than Sweden's.
