Ironically Belgium is the first Group favorite to really take care of business.
Not many people saw that coming.

A comprehensive victory for Belgium. I think it's very likely that they finish the group with 9 points.

None of the favourites have done what was expected of them yet. Only France won, but by a tiny margin, but I had predicted victories for Germany, Brasil, Argentina, and Spain. Of course, i didn't earn any points with those.

Belgium the first one thats stepping up.

Panama has very little quality, and unless Costa Rica turns it around, it looks like a bad tournament for Comcacaf aside of Mexico.

I thought Costa Rica were going to start better.

Cleats to the chest , is probably the worst type of agression. Ball wasn't even close to where his feet landed

If De Bruyn usually is a clean player (which I agree), doesn't matter, as what counts is what he did in that specific play. Through it, you can even kill someone.

De Bruyne was invisible in the first half, but a cheeky assist for the second goal with the three finger spin. Nice assist by Hazard too, along with Lukaku the best attacking force we’ve seen thus far.

you could kill someone even with a simple arm in the neck (which happens in every game of football). What KDB did was unintentional, and the Panamanian was OK. Again, this didn't warrant a red card, not against someone like De Bruyne. If that was Fellaini on the other hand.... :)

Picking Serbia sole winner against CR is a bold prediction... and bolded

sorry, we can't agree on this one

Intentional or unintentional, basic principle here, for any player going straight with his cleats up to the air, there is a very big possibility that he may hit someone, with them, and whomever you hit, will most likely be badly hurt. Cleats aren't made out of a soft material, as they are purposed to punction the surface it hits (specifically the ground, and nothing else), to avoid slipping.

Besides, according to the rule book, you don't even need to hit your opponent, and you can get red carded for doing so (usually when there is no contact a yellow is given, but when there is contact, the red gets shown)..

I know, but Serbia was favorite, albeit a risky one. For me Croatia - Nigeria was more obvious as 1, and you've bet 1x on that one

we can't agree indeed. It was a yellow at most. Let's move on!

hehe yepp i agree, but if Nigeria had ended a draw it would give more money.

well, yeah, but the point is that Croatia was the obvious winner. I would have bet like 100 Euros on that game alone if I had money and not because Nigeria are bad, but because the Croatians don't concede many goals, and because they have a midfield capable of holding the ball. Anyway, nevermind! It's good that you've won something :)

From what I've seen in the qualifiers and the friendlies leading up to this world cup this was Belgium's worst game in a long time. Defense not pressing, De Bruyne and Hazard having frustrating games. You could see it on De Bruyne's face, he made a very cynical foul at the end. The team as a whole played way too slow, they can be much better.

    Dissapointing really.

It's hard to play at your best against weak teams that drag you to their level. So, it wasn't disappointing at all

Just saw this, DeBruyn wasn´t turning around. He went directly to the opponents chest and as he figured he was not going to get the ball, he applied full force to it (it was criminal, to say the least). I hope FIFA see's this footage and gives him, an off the field sanction for what he deserves.:thumbsdown:
