Wow, what a Big deal! We beat Germany in last 3 friendly meets , we also beat Brazil last year. I wonder if the Mexican coach has Argentina as no.1 contender because of that?:whistling:

Last time we faced Germany, we scored 4 , lets see if Mexico can do the same.

It is not a bad generation of players. We will always have a strong players but the problem is many of the players that would give us more of a balance were either neglected or are not in the starting 11.

Most of the supposed gringo analyst on TV do not know SHIT about Argentine football, they don't follow our league nor do they even know our lesser famous players. Don't bother listening to them or even read some articles that are being published from the larger websites. If you want to about certain players who play in our league and overseas, you're welcomed here to ask and you'll get a response.

Question: Why is biglia still being called up for the nt? He has been useless for the majority of his time with the nt. I also remember watching copa america (both the one in chile and usa) and he was hot garbage.

La Nacion excellent article on the Biglia "Fracaso". I am merely a football fan but from the moment I saw the alineacion that Biglia-Mashe vs Iceland was a mistake. (Not to mention Rojo....This one sent me flipping). Biglia, in addition to losing the ball for the Iceland goal, in 54 minutes, lost the ball 7 times and didn't have a pass between the lines.....Utterly useless. Not starting Lo Celso (i understand Ever was not at 100%) cost us dearly.

Biglia is the most useless player Argentina ever had. He offers nothing other than sideway passing and the worst part of his game is that he does NOT actively moving to find space for himself or make himself a passing option for his teammates.

I'm amazed that a player like him could even play in a famous European club, let alone in Argentina national team.

Imma just going to stand there and let Messi figure it out himself...

Perhaps his "good guy" attitude and the fact that he managed to make himself somehow looks decent in every game? remember that he always playing it save, he never tries to run pass defender, never press opponents or committed hard fouls, never make penetrating pass, its always 5 yard sideways passing all day.

Notice that when our forwards or defenders are having a bad game, the fans, neutrals and journalists will quickly react and making noise. You'll also see the media talking about Lanzini and Meza but Biglia's name is never the mix for whatever reason.

Biglia's importance to Sabella's overall defensive team structure during the world cup 4 years ago can not be underestimated.

But that was 4 YEARS AGO and Sabella left afterwards rendering him pointless. It boggles my mind that he's still being used in the same way or even at all.

Biglia wasn't even in the plans until gago was injured. Am I correct?

I watched PSG regularly this season and saw Lo Celso growing in stature there match after match. This kid deserves his spot. He was the ideal No 8 Argentina needed yesterday, someone creative, able to help play between the lines and inject some speed in midfield. Opportunity missed.

Sampa decided to play it save and choosed experience over experiment. Including the subs, he played a total of 8 veterans. If Romero wasnt injured, that means 9 veterans. Messi, Aguero, Di Maria, Rojo, Biglia/Banega, Masche. The NT never move on from those guys. Based on form and effectiveness, only Messi and Kun deserve to start.

This is the thing that confuses me. What good does experience help when you can't even perform or help the team when you have other players who have less experience but you know that they can deliver what the other "experienced" players can't

Thank you. Yes, Biglia should not be on this team anymore, but of course we have to come over the top with saying that he's always been useless. He proved himself quite useful 4 years ago on a team that had a set system and was actually defensively disciplined.

Look at the joy on Messi's face, looks like he is coming home to see his new puppy.

I occasionally surf AFA facebook page, there are lots of training photos and many of them are pics of Messi and Biglia having a good time together.

Sorry but a guy who has cost me multiple trophies wouldn't be a friend, or at least not close enough that I'd have to have him on my team, lol.

I remember from his days in Argentina that he has skill playing the ball. How is he at PSG in terms of defense, marking and recovery?

What’s the context? If they are celebrating a goal, it’s misleading.

The context is Messi saying "see, I told you I'd get the new coach to start you"

I remember when back in 2006 when Messi was asked to pick an all time best Argentines to play with.. and his answer was funny because its mostly his 2005 youth teammates lol

He also rate most of his Barca teammates among the best in history. So you could tell, friendship means ALOT to him.

Yea Messi is overly nice to his friends even if it is at his own expense. I feel like on a subconscious level he is more concerned about his friends happiness and not letting people down than actually winning for himself. This is one area where Ronaldo's ego can be a positive because Ronaldo only plays for his own glory and would never take blame for a failure the way messi did.

If I were Messi I would refuse to play unless Biglia and Di Maria take the next flight back home.
