It was pointed out that I posted to a locked thread (which I guess I can do being a Moderator). I've started a new thread that can be used to comment on sports other than football/soccer. Here is my original post to start things off: CHAMPIONS!!! After 44 years, my Washington Capitals won the Stanley Cup last night against Las Vegas. There was a huge crowd on the street in downtown Washington that watched the away game on a jumbotron screen https://www.washingtonpost.com/news...pionship-live-updates/?utm_term=.1c1fd5a11e77
CHAMPIONS!!! After 44 years, my Washington Capitals won the Stanley Cup last night against Las Vegas. There was a huge crowd on the street in downtown Washington that watched the away game on a jumbotron screen https://www.washingtonpost.com/news...pionship-live-updates/?utm_term=.1c1fd5a11e77[/QUOTE] This is not the best Capitals team, but it got the right ingredients. It started with trading away some key players at the beginning of the season, gave the roles to younger players. I think the huge turning point was when they exercised the demon of the past failures by defeating the Penguins. After that the confidence just grew and grew. The Lightning would be my pick to win but this Capitals team just found another gear. Ovie may win the MVP but if I had a vote I've vote for Kuznetsov. Congratulations!
Tonight perhaps it is Warriors' turn to win the NBA. It may be delayed by a day or two but they are a new dynasty after Lakers and Spurs.
Four game sweep by the Warriors. They are really a true team and always find the open man. I wonder where LeBron James goes next season as I don't think he stays in Cleveland.
They always found a way to win in the playoffs. beating Pittsburgh was huge given how many times the Penguins bounced them from the playoffs. I agree about Kuznetsov, he was the MVP of this team.
44 years I was complaining about 18 years. I saw on the BBC an interview with a few players of the USA rugby team. Are they getting more interest by parents to let their kids play it, because of the physical trauma dangers of Am. football?
