I like MM n Parker a lot. Both rugged enough and just have that mentality that loves goin at it. Would like to see more EPB either in front or next to these two. McK has the seasoning that Adams needs from European training. Both good but different right now. Wood needs a heads up type partner because he has no link up skill. It's straight ahead or nothing. So Sarge developes and we hope for someone else to break out. A steady flow of games this year and we win the hex hands down. Btw, the intangible of this group is chemistry. I see it and I'm sure I'm not alone.

Remember we are talking very young player here so anything that is said could be wrong in 4 years. However, that should not prevent us from judging if he makes the USMNT better or worse by his presence. At cmid he makes the team worse.
Slow draw (centrally) He needs the touch line to orient himself. He flunks as a cmid.

I also wonder if he wasn't responsible for France's goal. CCV moves to cover aft; a ball that is cut back should be for the dmid closest the ball which was Adams, no? He was responsible for the winning goal Ireland scored.

    So net negative.

so you are upset by players and refs waving trainers on as players lay on the ground bleeding?

none of those are doctors and some trainers have somewhat limited backgrounds in medicine.

players bang heads...laying on ground bleeding...aren't getting up...they need to be evaluated its common sense.

what is ur background in the game of soccer? I mean are you qualified to even talk about the game or do you not need to have played or coached 10 years in a top 5 league to talk about it?

oh and ur point is that you hate tt and you watch the entire match waiting for a chance to complain about the announcer...which is a strange way to watch something thats supposed to be fun.

    1. I'm sad we didn't get the 1-0 win, but to put it in perspective, we were playing a World Cup favorite on their home soil with their starting XI in their last warm-up game before the world's biggest tournament. They started some of the world's most expensive and talented players (Mbappe, Kante, Lloris, Pogba, Griezmann, etc.), and we started 10 guys who had 10 or fewer caps. They brought in guys like Ousmane Dembele and Fekir. We brought in Joe Corona, Yedlin, and an 18-year old kid who has never played a senior-team minute at his club.

Downplay it all you want, but our XI went toe-to-toe with a lot of the top 50 players in the world, on their home turf, and came away with a draw. I'm really happy.

    2. I'd argue that Miazga is our best defender, and he went out injured, and another young CB stepped in and did a great job. That's exciting. They weren't going against slouches. Our young CB death will be a huge boost going forward.

    3. How big has Antonee Robinson been these last few games? I'm excited that we have a real, honest-to-God Premier League-quality left-back. I hope he can stay healthy. He, Steffen, Miazga, EPB, CCV, Yedlin, and whoever emerges over the next few years -- that's a promising group. I hope Shaq Moore can continue to improve defensively. (As an added bonus, I like the little bit I've seen of Marlon Fossey at the youth level, although that's obviously a long way from senior MNT level.)

    4. I'm ecstatic for Julian Green. It seemed like he hit a real downward spiral after the '14 World Cup, but he's worked his way back into the USMNT conversation and scored an amazing goal today.

    5. I know we weren't exactly dominant today, but we did exactly what we had to do to get a great result against a team that should've absolutely massacred us.

(On a side note, I'm watching Columbus right now for the first time in ages, and they're incredibly exciting.)

His determination was that they should come off and be evaluated ... in the midst of a friendly. He was right. I don't understand what the argument is.

I doubt he went into a downward spiral - he just wasn't an exceptional youth prodigy in the first place. Forget about the bizarre World Cup selection and just evaluate him as with any other young player, and his career looks pretty ordinary. And that's not a bad thing, because it's the kind of ordinary career that could be very compatible with being a useful contributor for the USA.

Green is basically the same age as Kellyn Acosta, has a bunch of pro experience under his belt now, and obviously has some talent. I think he should be considered a good prospect who's just a little ways into his adult career, and neither a flop nor a comeback kid.

No he said subbed off. With blood, they had to come off anyway. And yes in a friendly subbing is a clear decision. If this were a meaningful match I’d expect one or both to return

That is what I meant by come off in this case … subbed off (I was not clear). But this WAS a friendly, which of course Twellman knew. So yes, saying they should be off and evaluated was completely correct. Only a fool would have kept the players on in that situation.

Blood-to-blood contact. That's dangerous. It's basically as if Giroud and Miazga had unprotected sex.

How is the weather up there?

This is a comment if France’s tendency to melt down at the slightest adversity. Did you remove a rib so you could blow yourself or were you born that way?

    ok let me try again

you said ur issue is that tt isn't qualified to say if a player should be taken off/evaluated for a head injury after that collision

you go onto say you'd expect one if not both to return after that happening...

if tt isn't qualified to say they need to be taken off and evaluated...how are you qualified to say they shouldn't be taken off meaning that you can tell there is apparently no chance at any sort of head injury(which is what would keep them from returning) or the cuts aren't that bad(miazga got 14 stitches).

    here is my third try

if tt is qualified to say something...why are you?

No, this was at a practice after school before a track meet, I was 16 and a Junior in High School.

I went to the hospital in an ambulance, my head got scanned, an they looked for any brain bleeding or signs of a concussion. They found none, jammed a big needle of painkillers in my head (I have a big phobia of needles), then stapled my scalp together with a staple gun that looked like it was from office depot.

I'm just trying to illustrate, times when you figure you'd have a concussion (e.g clash of heads with blood) you might not have a concussion. Times that you wouldn't think you have a concussion, maybe you do. Loads of players keep playing despite cuts, head or otherwise.

I doubt Giroud misses a WC game. He'll get evaluated, but blood =/= injury.

Wow. I did not expect this reaction to my light-hearted joke. I'm thrilled if we are the ones to make France melt down.
    Lighten up. Seriously.

well funny how things change..it went from nbd to you went to the hospital in an ambulance, had a scan. painkillers...strange since there was no injury perhaps a lawsuit should've been filled perhaps some insurance fraud, again strange...staples when there was no injury...what were they closing an injury perhaps?

this was done correct(although probably not the whole story). head injury occured and you were evaluated and treated. this is how it should be done, it shouldn't be just because you jumped up after it happened laughed and wanted to keep practicing saying you were fine that the coaches let you. It shouldn't matter of its practice or a game. This is what tt is saying when and serious injury like with you occcurs they need to be removed and evaluated especially when it involves the head. People getting on TT for this are really out of touch with what he is saying.

its better to be safe then sorry.

Getting your head split open by a clash of heads is, by definition, an injury. It may not be an injury that keeps you out of the next available game, but it is most certainly an injury that needs to be taken seriously at the time … as YOUR head injury was.

what he is trying to argue is he didn't have a concussion and if you don't have a concussion...you can't ever say someone should be evaluated to see if they have a concussion that assumption shouldn't be made...ever.

so a guy goes out cold...smelling salts and get him back out there you can't just assume he has a concussion that is right lol.
