    Excited to see what Robinson can do. That Bolivia games was the first time I've ever seen him play and he was my MOTM. Excited to see him against a real team

    Finally, the 3/5 back system that we should have been using as our primary system since last year! It might look really bad since it's being used against such a good opponent though.

    Stay tight. Stay compact.

    Don’t see how we generate very many chances with this setup. Wood and Green gotta be ready for Trapp’s through balls.

    Gonna be tough.

    This is SHOCKING. Not that we havent beaten them ... but that we have only PLAYED them 3 times! That seems almost unthinkable.

    As expected, France is fielding a strong team in their tune-up match.

    As I absolutely did not expect, Sarachan is playing ... a 5-3-2?

    'kay....

    I may be totally wrong about this, but didn't we injure Platini in one of these games? I thought the French FA was upset and that was the reason for such a long gap in between friendlies.

    Am I supposed to believe Keatinho isn't good enough to make the 18 for either of these games?

    If somebody doesn't ask Sarachan about this in the post game presser than the American soccer media is more useless than I already thought they were.

    Trapp I guess fills the American dream quota. Weston belongs as dmid if we have any chance. Sorry MLS you don't make very good midfielders.

    Everything else tells me Sarachan doesn't trust CCV. Or his midfield. Meh. Not bad. Kids need some safety.

    You know that McKennie is an MLS academy product, right?

    Green Wood look a lot like Dempey - Wondo pairing against Argentina.(L0-4). They got off zero shots.

    Unlike most here, I doubt France wins by a wide margin:

    a) We're going to bunker;
    b) the French players are going to be wary of getting injured, and we do have a rep as a "physical" team;

    So I keep my expected 2-1 or 3-1 for Les Bleus.

    I disagree completely with this take. Wood and Green have more movement/legs by a country mile than Dempsey and Wondo, even back then. We will get far more running than those 2 did. So while we may never see the ball because we will likely be completely outclassed, it wont be because we have a similar pairing to Dempsey/Wondo up top.

    We were likely “asked” to play a defensive formation so France could test their bunker breaking.

    The Trapp/McKennie/Adams trio didn't have anyone who could shuttle the ball from middle 3rd to the final 3rd or really provide an outlet. No real vertical passer. No quick passes into forward channels.

    So Sarachan ran out the same trio again.

    While Parks who is the most natural player in camp to fill that role will now go enjoy a baguette instead.

    I hope Keatinho beats Sarachan over the head with that baguette.
