England and Tunisia have the least experienced squads heading to the World Cup.
England have one of the youngest as well.
Panama have one of the oldest squads and more than three times as many caps as Tunisia's or England’s players have, yet Russia 2018 will be Panama's very first World Cup.

I'm surprised that Brazil has an older team than Australia. The Aussies seem quite ancient. Maybe it's because their captain Jedinak looks like he is about 90.

Half of Brazil's players are around 30yo. Even a babyface like Willian will turn 30 soon. Australia OTOH have the youngest player, Arzani, and only 6 players that are 30+.

They might be pessimistic about not winning the World Cup, which honestly they should, as England isn’t the kind of team that can win it at least not with this squad or coach, but the talk that Tunisia and Panama are there just for shits and giggles is all over the internet from YouTube videos by idiots to the pro analysts who are worried about who’s England going to face on the quarterfinals!!!

I wouldn't take them seriously. I, like plenty of people are very worried about just getting out of the group.

They don't represent the vast majority of England fans, I've heard plenty that are worried about just to getting out of the group. Wouldn't even waste your time watching bloggers on YouTube to be honest when it comes to England.

And 'other' nations don't have some people doing the same thing? Rubbish, like I said I would look at this site to see the truth of it, most people that seem to be obsessed with the English (and there are many here) tend not to actually even be English! I've often wondered why, something to do with the Empire perhaps? No, I reckon its because the Premier League is popular. If you want 'arrogance' I suggest you try the Southern parts of Europe or South America (I've even read somewhere on here how one particular Southern European claimed the 'Angles' can't play because its not in their DNA!!!!!) even the Germans (who lets face it are probably in the best position to justify being 'arrogant') are very modest compared to our 'friends' in the south.

Yeah, I think its a combination of the PL being the most popular league and this being an Anglo-dominated world. After all, if you can't understand a word of German, you're not going to notice the arrogance coming out of Germany.

That I agree, English fans aren't as arrogant as the southern European, maybe cause I believe British know football more than the others, I'm an English fan as well even though I never lived there but I always enjoyed the quality of football produced by the English.

hhhh that's so true, I cant speak Spanish or German to understand what they're saying, but even in North Africa we have the same problem with Moroccan since they think they're the best footballing nation in Africa and reading their comment surprise the hell out of me, they are almost 100% convinced that they will completely destroy Portugal!!
Glad I'm Tunisian and we are very modest specially when it comes to Football, we know we are good enough to beat anyone but we won't even assume that the Panama game is a give away.

Nonsense. The opposite is true. A German apologies for everything and everything. Most even felt sorry for the Brazilians (7:1). The fact is, most Germans are mentally ill.

Plus they're mainly just doing it for views because it's an interesting topic. Pretending to care.

Kind of odd, since they are one of the last teams to start competitive play. They must plan to do some sightseeing.:D

I can absolutely confirm this. I'm brazilian and this is my experience talking to Germans. No mocking at all. Sometimes I had the impression they weren't just sorry, but even ashamed.

I didn't get that near to be able to confirm this! :ROFLMAO:

This is not about english supporters. Most people - no matter which nationality - are taking it for granted that England and Belgium are getting through and they are already counting on getting Germany or Brazil on their way later on.
But this is not arrogance. This is just a probability issue. Often people tend unconsciously to consider already done something that has simply a reasonable probability to happen.
It's like if in the round of 16 you have a team that is on the paper much stronger than all others, enough to be assigned 80% chances of beating any of them.
Everyone will consider it done. And still the probability that they win the whole is lower than that they're eliminated somewhere. More precisely 41% vs 59%.

I’m a math major and understand probability very well, the issue here is when you don’t know one of the variable you can not deduct the percentage, Tunisia is an unknown team to most people talking about it being out, if any of them watched Tunisia play they will be worried about England or even Belgium making it out of the group.

For calculating probabilities in sport competitions there are no variables at all. Everything is subjective. And indeed we're talking about people's perception, so nothing but subjectivity.
You can't expect that people have full knowledge of all teams around in order to express their opinions and make their predictions. We just do them with the data we have.
People do try to consider statistical information in order to create objective data. Like for example in groups of 4 teams in the World Cup, so far England has finished at least second 13 times out of 14, while Tunisia has finished at least second NONE out of 4 times.
    This is statistics.
How can I tell someone arrogant when he concludes from these figures that the probability that England wins is much bigger than the opposite?
Of course it can happen - and that's why we love football.
But it will be a surprise. A huge one.

I'll be sure to watch the full game against Spain on Saturday thankfully because ESPN will be broadcasting it. Probably won't see much of the ball, which I guess won't do Tunisia much justice, but will be interesting to see how they setup to defend.
