We have talent on this side that is on par with, if not better than WC06. From a preparation standpoint, we are the worst prepared side for this tournament and will be punished/destroyed for that.

Even in our group, our aggregate talent is within the variance of Sweden and Mexico. Our problem is that the talent is skewed towards the middle and the front of the squad. It's as if we're driving a car with a very heavy front weight distribution. But that's the manager's job. To even out and mitigate the squad's problems. Not add on to it before the tournament...

So, how exactly is what you regularly bitch and moan about in the "The everything" thread any better(Particularly politics)? have you even seen yourself in the mirror throughout the years you've been on BSK? Certainly, a lot of your bitching even in threads outside of NSR are pretty cringe worthy. By now I would've thought you'd learn to stop contradicting yourself let alone the hypocrisy, but it just can't get across your thick skull.

Yeah, my complaining gets out of hand at times, so what we all complain? but the least I try to reflect on the problems that need to be looked upon and contribute to the discussion. What more have you posted other than cries about how someone stole and ate your school lunch? There's a good reason why there's an ignore function, but if you can't seem to use it because you're itching to read my comments, well then buddy, just keep silent like the good boy you've been lately.

But all seriousness though STY learned all the bad things from Uli such as saying inane things in press conference.
But on top of that he has a lot of flaws as a manager.

He already had flaws coming in as the manager for Seongnam, and it showed during his second season in charge, only except the 2010 ACL title is his only worth even though the team was basically what Kim Hak-bum left behind, but it's also the main thing that got him pompous.

Son showed exactly why he will never be a good captain for the KNT. He can't carry/lead the team when it matters anyway.

Look how badly balanced we are right there when KSY delivers that sublime pass.

KMW and LY are pushed all the way forward ahead of the strikers. And LJS is on the right alongside KJC. And the CBs are playing as fullbacks.

As soon as KSY makes that pass, KJC has to fill that position behind LY in case he loses possession. Thus, he's factored out of the attack. Meanwhile, KMW has no one covering behind him as JWY is central and SHM is running into the box.

So again, what happens when we lose possession? STY expects KSY to hold the entire middle and CBs to match the pace of Bosnia's pacy wingers? WTF? Is this STY's actual tactic against a good European side?

I wouldn't use this unless we're playing a side like Burma or some other horrible ASEAN country. We really should have lost by 4 or 5 goals in this match. And if LY and KMW are going to function as LF/RF, why not just put attacking players into that position? Crackpot tactics.

[Edit - if this is something we did in spurts; picking and choosing our moments, it's fine. But to try and do this for 70 minutes without a substitution other than for a CB? Laughable.]

I'm going to miss him when he retires. I really do hope he plays in the 2022 WC

Let's just all calm down. People forget this is a friendly, give the manager a chance. Lot of people on this forum think they have more knowledge about football than the actual professional manager. Lets be real, we are all just average joes that haven't played in high level let alone played competitively to even comprehend what the manager is trying to test out in these friendlies.

KSG isn't my preferred choice. But you can't fault him for any of the goals in the match. The defending completely fell apart, and the Bosnia had high percentage shots that were put away neatly. His positioning and ball distribution were good overall imo.

I guess Duerden didn't hear STY's insane comments before going to bed.

Its good of you to compare apples and oranges. Its what dimwits do really when they can't see the forest thru the trees. Or in your case a complete circle jerk with a ton of time on his hands.

But go on with your armchair antics. Ill just continue to call your horseshit out.

Youre a whiney little c u next tuesday. Hilarious you think you're actually offering any usable insight with your hindsight. Laughable honestly.

Let me ask you this, do you honestly think this crew is making it past the groups? Because if you do, therein lies your problem. You are not in touch.

I'm hope Duerden knows something we don't... perhaps that STY is fooling us all by making these comments about 3 back and playing 3 back in these friendlies. He's going to unleash the ultimate 442 against Senegal and surprise us all come game day against Sweden. I still can't Sweden didn't organize a single friendly against an Asian side to prepare for us.

Apparently our manager wasn't, since he's continued to try to reinvent the wheel since then.

Duerden also called STY the "Asian Mourinho" iirc, so I wouldn't rely on too many insights from him.

    talent-level wise:

2010 > 2002 > 2006 > 2018 > 2014....but I think all very close and 2002, 2006, 2010 are fairly interchangeable for diff reasons and within the MoE. Not sure if you are counting injured players, though -- like prime LDG from early 2000s and KCH (I was not).

It's so sad because I was more optimistic when we got our draw. I checked both Sweden and Mexico squad but I didn't think their players were better than ours at least when it came to starting line up. Sweden lacked good offensive players that were scoring goals in the big leagues. We at least had Son Heungmin and Kwon Changhoon. Their midfield were comparable to ours. Their defence were better though. But they had a better manager that was able to create a more cohesive and team that actually played like a unit and they are very good defensive side. That's why you hear them saying they played better without Ibrah even though he's still the best striker for them.
Mexico side is pretty comparable to ours. Their defence isn't that good and they are missing a DM like us. Their manager isn't that good but not as bad as ours. Their players weren't playing as much or performing well for their clubs recently. Tbf, I think they'll struggle this WC. This season, many of our players actually stepped up in Europe if people were paying attention. Son Heungmin was getting praise, KCH had a break through season, Ki had a better season compared to the past, Koo stepped up, Suk Hyunjun was finally playing and scoring goals. Hwang Heechan didn't play well compared to last season but he still played in Europa league and contribute. Compared to 2014, our players were prepared.
But now I lost all optimism. STY wasting good friendlies against Poland and Bosnia to play 3-5-2 and throwing out random players. Then we lose Kwon Changhoon and Kim Minjae.
