Friday, 7PM, at the Dick. Rapids v Vancouver Whitecaps.
Well, we've lost 6 in a row. It can get worse, it can get to 7.
    Post your thoughts here.

From JasonMa, on the season thread. So there you go, must win?

It can be a 2-1 loss. But it will be a 1-1 tie. Who cares who scores?

Any indication on Marlon or Ford’s availability?

I know a full start might be overly hopeful but would love to see them get some meaningful minutes.

Their on field replacements have been atrocities.

    Hairston, Ford & Blomberg available?

    Yes - it’s a “must win.”

"With healthy bodies returning, Colorado Rapids desperate for a result"

If our "little spell" (what Hudson called six losses in a row) is considered a 100% problem, injured players have been about 20% of what needs to get better -- is he doing much (or will he) about the other 80%?

Yep. Fair prognosis. Calling a spade a spade. Kinda sad that the gloom is dovetailing with the apathy as of late... or maybe, the former is feeding the latter. Anyway, I think it's quite realistic to consider this a must-win given the total point shortage... thus, the season would more/less be over if you place trust in historic statistics. And regardless of the dire points status, if they lose (or maybe even draw) against a sub-par team like VAN, at home, after 6 prior losses, you've basically left the fanbase with a crushing moral defeat with the worst losing streak in club history (if I'm not mistaken), with rather ugly play, with continued angst on tactics and player selections, with bizarre ongoings like Aignergate... and most importantly, lost hope that it'll ever trend for the better and lost hope that Hudson will ever make the needed changes.
Enough evidence to jump ship, basically.

Of course, the optimists out there probably still have faith... and that's good and admired. Unfortunately, I'm more of a pessimist. But, it's getting to the point where the statistics and probabilities directly support the pessimist's view.

    Hope they prove me wrong!

I think they'd actually win if Hudson ever (finally) plays Gashi and Boli together for more than 45. One or both of them would tally a goal. But I gave up hope on proper player selections. I honestly feel that we're more likely to see McBean again before we get to see both Gashi and Boli on the pitch together for 2 halves.

    Yea, I'm on the cusp.

I seems like the Rapids have won a lot of games vs the Whitecaps at home 2-0. Started looking back and I wasn't imagining it, lots of 2-0 wins and lots of wins in general. Of course, last year the Rapids lost twice at home to them.

I'll be traveling tomorrow night so any match reports appreciated. Hoping for a 1-1 tie, goal by Badji ... and four yellow cards!

A loss would tie the worst (late 2014 finishing with the infamous Joe Nasco game) but unless they lose by 8 the prior streak would have a worse goal differential than this one does.

Always lookin’ on the bright side, are ya? ;-)

Any wagers on the chances we’ll be looking at a draw/loss to VAN at home followed by a loss to USL Nashville on the road. Now THAT could be the fatal blow to cap off 2018... delivered by Gary Smith. How’s that for a storyline!

What a Total BS quote, he is the one choosing the line-ups and forcing the fans to watch sub MLS players flailing about in these games. Meanwhile we must have the most expensive (Salary) "Bench" player group in the history of the MLS.

I hope Badji gets a Yellow so hopefully we can finally see Boli start and get real minutes.

Some articles/tweets hint that Hairston/Bomberg/Ford are available for selection. Practice notes say they are practicing with the team. Other articles/blogs show them as still out. Anyone know?

I don't expect to see them starting right away, but having in the 18 and getting sub minutes sure would be nice. Along with a good look at Aigner/Gashi/Boli/Serna. Heck, I am also open to MacMath in the pipes at this point.

The injury report has turned into even more of a joke this season than its been in the past, so ignore that.

I don't see any of those three coming right back into the XI, and honestly, with only 3 games between now and the end of June (plus the USOC game) I'm not sure they'll rush them back for any reason.

Based on insider info, I would expect to see Axel in the lineup. It's also been hinted that Nicholson may feature on the right.

    Enter Eric Miller.

Injury reports tried to shed some light on his mysterious, long-lasting injury that Hudson never really said much about... We just didn't see Miller much all season. Right up to April 29th, where an injury report noted that he was still out but starting to attempt a comeback with the team.

Two days later, he's traded to the Loons and starts a couple days later. Plays full 90 if not mistaken... and starts multiple subsequent games playing full 90.

A miraculous recovery brought on by the upper Midwest air apparently.

Hudson is all about half-truths (which are half-lies, by definition).... Miller, fitness, tactics, injuries, Aigner, Sunderland.

I usually just "rep" jokes that make me laugh, but this one made me LOL.

I have to go along with Jason's 1-1 prediction; Boli scoring in back-to-back games. But here's how sick I am; I'm still thinking about ways this team can win it. (Fortunately, I'm coaching a bball game tonight and will miss it. Thanks to everyone for letting me know what happens.)

Axel in for whom? Wynne (crosses fingers)? Wilson or Smith?

I'd like to see Nicholson on the right since he plays with energy and some skill wherever he's been so far.

I'll be there. Just hoping for goals and entertainment. If we loose, we'll be touching historic lows, and who doesn't want to witness history?

Would love to see Axel. Danny Wilson was HORRENDOUS last week, as was Boateng.

Probably Wilson in the middle since he lacks the pace to play Smith or Wynne's positions.

Makes sense. Vancouver crosses the ball a LOT. Last month they attempted 38 crosses against Minnesota, who was bunkering against it. Minnesota won 1-0. Axel would help defend against Kamara on that front.
