Do you know for sure that is the case? I think I remember an earlier similar call up where players in NWSL weekend games were allowed to stay with their NWSL teams and then report the next day.

PS - Heath is looking better and better and played the entire last Thorns game, seeming fully match fit.

OK, sounds like the USWNT campers won't be there this coming weekend. It's a shame the Thorns are off for the weekend:D.

02' 0-0 Heath flicks ball ahead, runs self into Zerboni's turned back, sprawls down. Foul on Zerboni. Chippy already!

03' 0-0 Heath fk at 25m arc left, dink chip to 9m 1/3 left. Crnogorčević outruns the scrum, leans and heads way wide left low.

04' 0-0 Heath drives down wide left to 5m, bumping with Mathias and both relishing the contact ;). Both go down, no call, Heath pops back up and resumes dribble! Loses ball, NC switches left and clears down (their) left touch.

06' 0-0 McDonald races Reynolds to arc top wide left, doesn't give an inch, Reynolds slides down and McDonald stays up. McDonald touches to 6m box left, cross outswings through 10m 6-right, behind two trailers at 6-top. S.Mewis regains at ~arc top wide right, high cross drops at 4m 3-left. McDonald runs on unmarked, but grasstop-volley launches way over bar.

10' 0-0 Horan dribbles left-to-right just behind midfield, has Onumonu(?) closely marked up box right, keeps delaying the pass -- until S.Mewis steals ball clean. S.Mewis flicks left outstep inside-out through box top mid-left, perfectly splits 2 to L.Williams outflanking down mid-left to 7m. Ground cross to 4m right post is too far for McDonald.

26' 0-0 Zerboni dribbles to box top wide left, hard cross headed by Menges, down to Crnogorčević at 15m mid-left. Crnogorčević stops ball, somewhat inexplicably rolls a soft out-pass down toward endline wide (her) right, expecting Reynolds to run to ball and trap Zerboni within a triangle. Reynolds not on same page, doesn't even move -- Zerboni veers to ball, 2nd cross banks off Reynolds and over endline left. Hmph.

27' 0-0 Onumonu settles ball at 8m left post, facing away. Tap back to Crnogorčević near spot, rushed soft right instep shot trickles to Rowland. Ugh, put some oomph into that.

29' 0-0 Dahlkemper right ck, to 8m 3-left. McDonald heads down toward 1m 1/4 left, Purce blocks with leg, Portland clears.

30' 0-0 McDonald counters to arc top mid-left, square pass right to Williams(?) at arc top. One-touch right instep pass to 10m left post, Debinha runs on, Reynolds lunges in from the left and hip-checks Debinha down. Foul, pk.

31' 0-1 L.Williams pk, right instep into back right hard, past Eckerstrom's dive.

35' 0-1 Sinclair fouled in own 1/3. After the play, Zerboni makes ... extra contact? Sinclair stomps upfield, barking at Zerboni's retreating back.

36' 0-1 Sinclair long ground pass toward arc top right, but Crnogorčević is caught offside by NC's well-formed trap line.

37' 0-1 L.Williams outraces Hubly down box right to 5m, fast cross bounces once, to 3m 2-left. McDonald outflanks Reynolds and Purce, hop-volleys almost straight up, over bar. Wow, there was almost no window to miss that shot :p

38' 0-1 Zerboni waits under a high bounce at midfield mid-left. Sinclair sees that, owes her one, lunge-pokes with a hint of high-boot (maybe chest-high). Yellow card on Sinclair  Just to snuff further escalation? Killjoy :coffee:

    46' 0-1 Portland subs in (1 of 3) #15 Ellie Carpenter for #7 Ana-Maria Crnogorčević.

48' 0-1 Purce crosses to 5m center, but nobody's in that lane, Rowland catches high.

49' 0-1 Dunn long ground pass up centerline to L.Williams behind Portland's high line at 27m. Eckerstrom comes way up to 14m, Williams pulls up at arc top mid-left as Portland's backline overtake her to box top. Williams finally shoots left roundhouse, but no arc at all, ball hits Reynolds and deflects left.

51' 0-1 Heath fk at 35m+ box left, high inswing to 5m 1/3 left, Rowland catches. Portland are creating sporadic chances, but NC is always 2-3 passes away from a counter. (Which they then waste, but still)

55' 0-1 Klingenberg dribbles to circle left, long ground pass up centerline hits Onumonu in stride at 30m, as Dahlkemper stumbles leftward and loses contact. Onumonu touches to box top left post as Dahlkemper closes her down, shoots soft right instep toward back left, Rowland dives (her) right and smothers easily. Portland need some oomph.

    57' 0-1 Portland subs in (2 of 3) #8 Andressinha for #22 Ifeoma Onumonu.

58' 0-2 Eckerstrom restart, S.Mewis volleys upfield to Dunn at midfield mid-right.
Dunn passes to L.Williams at circle top box right, continues her own run. Menges and Klingenberg both bite on Williams, outside-in pass behind them sends Dunn alone to 12m wide right. High fast cross outswings to 6-top left post, Debinha jumps behind Andressinha wrong-footed, towering head-spike just inside left post, into 1/5 left back. Eckerstrom was there, but Debinha threaded the near-post window. Andressinha somewhat misjudged the arc and underran it.

62' 0-3 McDonald right throw-in at 5m, heaved to 9m mid-right. Erceg back-heads a flick to 7m 3-right, S.Mewis jumps between Sinclair and Horan not jumping, twist-heads another flick to 6m 2/5 left. L.Williams leans past Menges, simple left-foot volley across mouth into back right high. Pinball goal out of nothing -- but four defenders all did not-enough in their match-ups.

64' 0-4 Hinkle right ck, inswings to 8m left post. McDonald outjumps Menges and Sinclair, heads down past the scrum. Ball bounces at 6-top and up to Zerboni facing away at 4m left post, she twist-heads ccw across mouth. Ball arcs across mouth over/past Eckerstrom to 2m 1/3 right, S.Mewis jump-twists and nods ball into back right, past Hubly and Klingenberg not jumping.

I think this multiple-flick-headers on set pieces is something NC practices. I'd like to see the drill for that :)

77' 0-4 Hinkle sprints through ball and steals it at own arc top mid-left. Long forward pass to Hamilton down box right to 6m, hard cross hits a defender's hip, bounces out to 11m right post. Debinha runs on unmarked, blasts left foot one-touch, just wide right low.

80' 0-4 Heath fk at 12m wide right, ground pass to box top mid-right. Andressinha shoots over the scrum, but directly to Rowland.

84' 0-4 Hubly chases a 50-50 ball past midfield, collides legs-between-legs with Hinkle oncoming. Ball trickles ahead, Hubly lunges into a hurdler's-stretch and pokes it. Ball rolls up right touch to ~box top. Behind ball, Hubly is down in pain. Brief stoppage: Hubly rolls onto back, gets up gingerly. Leg contusion from impact? Hubly resumes, limping a bit. Portland has used all 3 subs.

88' 0-4 Horan faces off vs. Hamilton at 8m wide left, nutmegs and rounds her. Hamilton spins and leans a forearm into Horan, lunge-pokes ball but scissors Horan's trapped lower leg. Foul, yellow card on Hamilton.

89' 1-4 Heath fk at 9m wide left, ball headed by Zerboni down and across to 11m 6-right. Reynolds spots up, one-touch right instep shot arcs perfectly over scrum, across mouth into back left edge 1/2 high, as Dahlkemper gives the no-more-shutout arm flap. Reynolds' 1st-ever goal :thumbsup:, in her 100th cap!

FT 1-4. This is how the Imperial garrison on Endor felt when they looked up at the sky.

Portland was the better team for both the first 20 and the last 20. Unfortunately for them, they were pretty poor during the 50 minutes in between, and got punished for horrendous defending.

This is only the third ever home game where Portland conceded 4 or more goals. Guess who they played the two previous times that happened.

As much grief as I have been giving the Go90 announcers for their wrong facts and overall terrible knowledge of the subject matter, I do want to praise them for attempting to address why Hinkle was getting booed whenever she had the ball, particularly on corner kicks. They never really got the chance to finish it as mid-explanation the Courage started their 3 goals in 6 minutes run, which changed the conversation. At least they tried. Given past off the field controversies and women's soccer, I fully expected it to be completely ignored.

As for me personally, I take the lead of her teammates. The general love and joy that I see every time I'm around this team between the players is inspiring.

I think Morgan Conklin, the analyst for this game, is pretty good. Unlike most "experts" who endlessly talk about "rhythm" and "holding the ball", and "joy", she actually imparts some info in describing what happens on the field.

Admittedly, Conklin's voice is not plummy or have the neutral accent as do the voices of most announcers.

Regarding Hinkle, she's made her views known -- and been punished for it by not being on the National Team, even though she's the best left back in the U.S..

Should she be exiled? Should Colin Kapernick? Interesting questions......

Another home loss/away win in the books... We're almost dead even on home field "advantage" this season!

On another thought: Portland. They started the season fairly well, then scared their fans with a five-game winless skid, then looked to have turned it around with back-to-back wins before getting shellacked last night. Since there are eight opponents in a nine-team league, you can in theory divide a team's record versus each half of the rest of the table (which, unless you are a playoff team, is a playoff/not-playoff split). For POR, here's the split:
    vNC/SEA/ORL/HOU: 1w, 1d, 4l (0.67PPG)
    vCHI/UTH/DC/NJ: 3w, 2d, 0l (2.2PPG)
If you want to do a pure playoff/not-playoff split, you just move the HOU draw from the upper category to the lower category, so it's not a big difference. Either way, it's the profile of a team very unlikely to move up from the middle of the table since they can't beat the tougher teams.

Their remaining away schedule is pretty evenly split, but their remaining home schedule has noticeably more of the weaker teams than the stronger teams. Whether you count that as a blessing or a curse thanks to POR's inverted home/away trends is up to you. X-D

And here we see one of the problems of the last-minute rescheduling this year... No backup game for Lifetime to show RN.
