We may play the US in a friendly in October, which I’m sure it will be in NY again. Nothing is set but there are ongoing talks. Probably a prep for the CA in 2019.
I think I'd be more excited on the squad that are going to Copa in Brazil. I cant get excited anymore by the 05-07 players. I certainly think there will lots of new players whether we win this year WC or not. Other than Messi and to some degree Aguero and Di Maria, the rest should be eliminated from the 23. Seeing lots of Sampa's comments since he took the NT, its clear that he has a long term plan for the next WC cycle. However, he decided not to take risk for this year WC because there's not enough time for experimenting with the way things are going in qualifier.
Maybe it could be Miami, the U.S. are trying to set up friendlies v Colombia and Argentina. Perhaps Miami will be one of the locations they'll play their friendlies. I wish they would come out to SoCal again.
Just an FYI for our SoCal posters. Argentina-Guatemala will happen at the Coliseum on Sept 7. I believe tickets are already on sale.
Looks like the October friendlies have been confirmed: Iraq on the 12th (egypt fell through), followed by brazil four days later. I would like to see us play a European team for a change.. it seems like we’re always rotating between the likes of Mexico, Brazil, Guatemala and the ocassional small Asian team.
I believe it is going to be more difficult playing European sides now with that UEFA Nations League going on and then they're gonna have Euro Qualifiers as well as World Cup qualifiers continuing to rotate for years.
Peru was able to play Netherlands and Germany this last break, though. The way the Nations League groups are set up, there is usually one team that is idle per match date.

You speak as if Mexico and Argentina played every other year. We had one friendly three years ago and then the World Cup match in 2010 before that. Regardless, expecting European teams to be available after how UEFA restructured the FIFA dates is a bit utopian.
well I guess it's best in the short run to face the likes of Mexico and Brazil to prepare for the Copa 19. But yeah, the UEFA nations league has really limited the available friendly spots for Arg NT.
What a waste of time. I would've said lets just let our local players play in these games but we have a young team that needs to gel.
Considering how it's two games rather than one and how they will take place on South American soil (surprised it's not in the U.S.), I'm assuming there will be at least some experimenting on our part.
So it turns out these two friendly matches vs Mexico (Nov 17 & 20) will be part of the “Adidas Cup,” meaning the German brand will do everything possible to convince their brand star Messi to participate. The locations of the matches are to be determined, although it is rumored that one will be in La Bombonera and the other in the interior (outside of Buenos Aires; possibly Cordoba or Mendoza). However, El Monumental is also an option given the direct link the stadium has with Adidas. On another note, this could be a problem for River and/or Boca’s players (Armani, Martinez, Pavon, Palacios, etc) since these two friendlies just happen to be scheduled between the occurrence of the two legs of the Libertadores finals.
Their not gonna pull players from their Libertadores squads those are priority over national team friendly’s and secondly I would love to see Mexico vs Argentina at the Rosario stadium that’s a beauty.
Good luck to Argentina tonight, a win would be great but a positive performance even if it ends in defeat would also be encouraging.
