Mass Luongo scores again this time against Norwich.

Awer Mabil scored this weekend in the Portugese League but all videos seem to have gone missing. Was pretty much a tap in at the far post from a cross though against Chaves.

Alireza Jahanbakhsh ends up as top scorer of the Eredivisie with 21 goals, as a winger. Apparently the first Asian player to end up as top scorer in a European league. Bound to make a big move, Napoli mentioned to be keen on having him

Last year Ghoochannejhad was the 2nd top scorer of the league

Congratulations. :) Nice to see an Asian player winning a top scorer award in Europe even though the Dutch league is ranked 14th in Europe now and weaker than Austria, Switzerland and Czech Republic.

Alireza Jahanbakhsh becomes the 3rd most expensive Asian transfer ever, going to Premier League side Brighton for £20M, most expensive Brighton signing ever and most expensive player ever sold by AZ Alkmaar

Every single Iranian national team starter, is now Europe-based, except for Beiranvand, the goalie, who turned down several big league offers to stay with Persepolis for another 6 months and help them in the ACL. Future looks good for Iran for 2019 Asian Cup and 2022 World Cup, as long as CQ remains in charge of the team. Iran are now the odd-makers’ favourites to win the Asian Cup.

We also now have several players who aren't even called up to the national team that play in Europe. Heck, we have 5 players playing in Belgian teams, and 4 of them weren't called up to the WC, one of them was one of the top scorer in the Belgian league (Kaveh Rezaei), he would be a star player in any of the non top-4 AFC teams

Even our older players like Vahid Amiri who is 30 years old, have moved to Europe this season. I believe within a year or so, once Taremi and Beiranvand make their moves to Europe, we will be the first Asian team ever to have the entire 23-men squad playing in Europe. Now just think about that and remember that at some point after the 2010 WCQs, I believe we had only one player left in Europe. What a difference a few years under a world-class manager like CQ can make.

All of them, except Jahanbakhsh play in the non-top 5 European leagues, though.

Number of Asian players in the top 5 leagues.

    Japan (12)
    Spain - 2
    England - 3
    Germany - 6
    France - 1

    South Korea (6)
    England - 2
    Germany - 2
    France - 2

    Australia (4)
    England - 3
    Germany - 1

    North Korea (1)
    Italy - 1

    Iraq (1)
    Italy - 1

    Iran (1)
    England - 1

There is still a big talent gap between JPN/KOR/AUS and Iran unfortunately.

By the way, I'm not confident of Jahanbakhsh's adventure in the EPL. Most of the attacking exports from the Netherlands have struggled badly in tougher leagues. He could follow the same path as his former teammate Janssen, who lost to superior strikers like Kane and Son at Spurs and then got kicked out of the top 5 leagues.
