Well, it is too late for Vahid to consider him now, but it will be great if this kid celebrated his 20th birthday in Russia as a member of Japan's NT squad.

  8. He played very good today creating danger. Unfortunately it didnot result in goals in the first half and AZ managed to take the lead with 2-0. Then Ritsu managed to get the score even with an assist and a wonderful goal. Alas for him AZ scored in the dying minutes of over time the winner.

How do you guys rate this guy? I thought it was kind of a fluke, but looking at his goals , many of them are fantastic!!

  11. In a soccer tv show they mentioned FC Groningen activated the buy clause in his contract and they said it would have been stupid if not. They made comparison between him and the Korean player of Tottenham. They liked that he not only has the skills, but also the power in his body. They wondered how FC Groningen got hold of him, how they did spot him.
But hey, the same thing was with Luis Suarez.
Demmit. He's now going to be too expensive for Feyenoord.

  12. He definately isnot a fluke. He's developing quite fast, which is a sign of quality.

Okubo was called in 2014 without being previously tested by Zaccheroni. Doan might be the surprise pick this time, who knows...

  14. And again into the team of the week against Ajax. FC Groningen missed many chances while dominating Ajax (should have a 4-0 lead at the break) and payed for their negligence to cash in the chances by loosing in the dying minutes 2-1.

  15. In he "Eredivisie Team of the month" based on match data from Opta Sports:

Vilhena en Berghuis in Elftal van de Maand
    2 dagen geleden
Tonny Vilhena en Steven Berghuis zitten in het Elftal van de Maand van de Eredivisie. Beide spelers van Feyenoord zijn op basis van statistieken geselecteerd voor deze maand. Ook Feyenoord-huurling Simon Gustafson heeft een plekje in het elftal gekregen.

Football fans are well aware of his achievements. Considering that football is the most popular sport in Japan then I would say yes. Do TV stations care about him? Not so much at the moment. DAZN shows all of his games in Eredivisie. When it comes to Holland and Japanese players two other names are usually brought to the table - the negative coming from Sota Hirayama, a forward who recently ended his career in Japan, he had a great start with Heracles Almelo when he was 20 years old and scored 8 goals in his forst season there but later on faded away completely. The positive one, you should know who it was if you're supporting Feyenoord. He was a technical genius so people doubt that Doan will match him ability wise but they hope that he will get a much bigger international career than Ono did in Europe.

That's more or less what I saw over the Internet in the recent months.
