This is according to the recent player profile from the NYT https://www.nytimes.com/2018/02/06/sports/soccer/liverpool-alexander-arnold.html Highly unlikely he ever accepts a call up, but worth noting.
Yeah, this is cool, but the kid is Liverpool til he dies. Since his debut he's told the press over and over again that he wants to follow in Gerrard's shoes and captain LFC. Seems like he's close with his American family, but I can't see him playing for the US unless he's absolutely desperate, and even then his heart might not be in it. However, I do expect to see him with the Galaxy 17 seasons from now.
That's pretty cool, but this isn't happening because he's more than good enough to play for England. Sucks that we have to root for players in his situation to not be too good.
Looks like he turned some heads in today's Champions League match: Amazing first leg! Well done everyone in Liverpool, you've done the rest of us fans so damn proud. Beautiful to see you in full voice.Trent Alexander-Arnold is my MOTM. City without a single shot on target - the first time that's happened for 18 months to them. Basically Kyle Walker number 1 by a mile and then a ton of pretty good options after him that are almost all Tottenham or Liverpool players lol; (Pochettino and Klopp may be the best things to happen to the England national team). Kieran Trippier, Danny Rose, Nathaniel Clyne and Joe Gomez are probably all battling it out for that second RB slot, he may jump Clyne and Gomez but I would put my money on Rose as he was starting ahead of Walker before the injury and stupid interview. If we were going to the World Cup we probably would have had a legit shot with him, why would he switch now?
It certainly could be. We don't have a lot of information to go on. That's why there wasn't a thread before, even though he was discussed in the Detective Work thread. We certainly know players who have been touted as "US-eligible" based on a poor understanding of US citizenship law.
Rose is a left back. Gomez is already playing CB for England and should end up there at club level too in the longer term. Beyond Walker, Clyne and Trippier there's a big drop off (if you ignore TAA/Gomez).
He is already provisionally cap-tied to England. Pretty sure he trained with the full squad in the last international break as well.
And Palmer-Brown! Yes, I know he's not English. But a hyphen none the less! Where do you see him? Winger perhaps..?
i want to believe that we as a community are capable of supporting the careers of players w/ American roots even when they choose to play for foreign NTs jk lol

2 EX English NT players in Gary Lineker and Rio Ferdinand think TAA should make the WC squad or maybe get there by Euro 2020. http://www.espn.com/soccer/england/...d-write-off-world-cup-and-call-up-young-squad
I see no chance of this guy playing for us. He’s lived in England his whole life and is playing for the England youth team.
And he's now gone, not that it was ever likely he plays for the US to be honest. England final WC squad. Goalkeepers: Jordan Pickford (Everton), Jack Butland (Stoke), Nick Pope (Burnley) Defenders: Trent Alexander-Arnold (Liverpool), Kyle Walker, Kieran Trippier, Danny Rose (all Tottenham), Harry Maguire (Leicester), Phil Jones (Man Utd), John Stones (Man City), Gary Cahill (Chelsea) Midfielder: Jordan Henderson, (Liverpool), Eric Dier, Dele Alli (both Tottenham), Jesse Lingard, Ashley Young (both Man Utd), Fabian Delph (Man City), Ruben Loftus-Cheek (Chelsea), Forwards: Raheem Sterling (Man City), Jamie Vardy (Leicester), Harry Kane (Tottenham), Marcus Rashford (Man Utd), Danny Welbeck (Arsenal).
He isn't actually cap-tied yet.... I have no delusions he's ever playing for the US (nor should he) but if we're gonna monitor this guy, we should be accurate about it. In theory, if he didn't actually play in the WC, then he could still switch.
Dreamt of going to a World Cup since I was a kid. Today that dream come true, an honour to represent the 3 Lions this summer! 🦁 @England pic.twitter.com/e6c8agtVar— Trent Alexander-Arnold (@TrentAA) May 16, 2018
Ooooooof this is the England squad going to the WC? Yeaaaaah good luck to the Three Lions. That is a roster full of "meh'. Harry Kane has will have a whole nation of his shoulders.
