I feel like it'll be a repeat of 2014 world cup.
    1. We miraculously draw Sweden.
    2. We get our ass kicked by Mexico.
    3. Germany put in their b team because they already qualified and just go on a training mode. Probably get one of their player sent out but still manage to beat us 1-0.

    1. Swedes mark a solid victory against us. 2-0.
    2. Mexico comes back from their first game vs. Germany to thrash Korea. (5-1). Late consolation goal but doesn't change the outcome.

    3. Germany fields their reserve players but beats Korea 4-0.

    Article name:
그래도 장현수가 제일 낫더라…수비 리더 믿어줘야
"Jang Hyun Soo was the best after all. We need to trust the leader in the defense"

    "best comment":
장현수 오늘 mom급 활약이였다. 오늘 만큼 한거 좀 더 가다듬고 월드컵가면 된다. 잘했다 장현수 안정적인 클리어. 빠른 판단 매우 좋았다
JHS's performance was MOM worthy. He can go to the WC. Well done, safe clearings. His fast decisions were great.

But you know what's the crazy part?
Even if we have a shitty WC, STY will probably deflect and come up with excuses. Oh we were in a hard group etc. Not different from Stielike again.
This is different from Hong Myungbo that actually took responsibility.

The majority of the comments sucking on Jang Hyun-soo's nuts are absolute delusional garbage. I seriously wonder what match they were watching, some Ray Charles level blind right there.

100% genuinely - i don't understand. i am quite used to having the court of public opinion disagree w me, but i can always understand why, at least to some extent. on this specific issue, i cannot. at all. are these bots...?

The sad thing is, they're for real. I'd be fine with them being paid trolls.

Lol... More seriously, He wasn't worse than KMJ and HJH today. In the 2nd goal he marked his man until the touch line like an idiot which create an huge gap in the defense. Excepted that, his match was just "normal", not bad but not good.
KMJ has been an huge disappointment so far and HJH is a complete joke. KMJ was unable to mark Lewandowski which led to an header stopped by the KSG and the same situation occurred with HJH this time and it led to the opening goal.

That's really sad the three don't have any sense of defending, watching the ball instead of the players, no anticipation, no composure. There is a real problem there, Korea should train their young players to defend because I don't really remember having seen a good central defender since I've followed Korea's performances.

I went to see the header in which Lewon beat KMJ but was saved by KSG. I noticed that Lewon judged the power and path of the ball very quickly and immediately went to the right position, while KMJ took more time to process that info. Hugely due to inexperience. This is more frightening to me then getting outmuscled. Lewon had a half step advantage. HJH losing out to Lewon is more embarrassing b/c Lewon was in front of him. It is much easier to clear the ball when you have to run up to head it. But again he was too late with his judgment of ball trajectory.
This should be analyzed and drilled into our players.

Bro, teams like Syria, Qatar, Uzbekistan as such were already a step ahead of our defense. Not only are we slow at tracking back, but we're also a few steps too slow at going forward on counters, resulting in all of their players closing the gap thus making guys like Jang Hyun-soo commit to a full u-turn 100% of the time.

I don't think we're anywhere as near as bad as 2014. Make no mistake, we're still bad but less bad. In 2014, in we didn't even know how to stand in a straight line. I still see the discipline that Shin is trying to instill. Is it enough time? Not sure. But I hope Shin got his answers because our 4-4-2 against Colombia and Serbia seems to be our only answer. Meaning - no more 3-4-3 or cutesy anything else.

Sadly I can't think of any good CBs coming through our ranks.
Maybe Kim Hyunwoo that plays for Dinamo Zagreb u19 team. He's small, only 183 cm and 70 kg. I wasn't all that impressed by the ways he played but maybe the Croatians can turn him into a good player...
Sadly there's no other stopper type defender that I can think of. Hopefully Kim Minjae improves...

But lets talk about Jang Hyun-soo. I'm not a fan, never have been but our only alternative seems to be Kwon Kyung-won? I think we all have our answer on Hong Jong-ho. It's choosing the lesser of two evils.

idk he's was pretty frustrating to watch in u20 wc. Also which team does he play for now?
Btw, our defenders are very worrying but I'm not too concerned about CF. At least we have attackers that's not necessarily a CF but can play 2 top with SHM.

Would be nice to see some bonafide European based CBs. All the ones that are stuck in Asia are stuck in Asia for a reason. They suck. JHS/HJH/KYK are our ceiling...no better alternatives.
