I also recommend sanctions for players who go to China. China = no national team selection

for anyone who decided to play there present or past. Atleast until that player proves themselves again.

So I'm trying to digest this match... Here are some quick thoughts.

    1. HJH is sooooo out of form. Truly shocking display. If something doesn't happen in the next two months to jolt him out of his perma-stupor, we're actually better off with JHS (gulp)...

    2. LY - wow, he's bad. If that's how he's going to play, rip up the "use Jeonbuk's backline" argument that I posited. Fck that. CCS is the better player. We're just going to have to use him and pray that some chemistry develops during training camp.

    3. JWY - predictably BAD. Just a bad, sad, wad of a player. With the ball, he's trying too hard to be cute and show up KSY by making ridiculous passes or passing it backwards at precisely the wrong moment. He's just not good enough at this level and his decision making is horribly affected w/ limited time to make decisions. As for being a defensive midfielder... Ummm... He can't mark. He can't tackle. He can't defend. Yeah... Useless red carpet boy.

    4. KSW - useless waste of space. Constantly offsides. Too slow. Too cumbersome. Cannot jump. Cannot time headers. Pushed around. Under any other manager, he would have played himself off the team. STY on teh other hand...

    5. PJH - coming into form. Needs at least another month of matches to gain true match fitness. Ideal scenario - he plays alongside KSY with KJS or HC playing left back. Less ideal, but possibly necessary - PJH plays LB.

    6. HHC - I actually don't think he's that limited as some of you were posting. He's still developing, but he really frustrated the Poles. KSW's introduction did not help him, but overall, he's a better option that LKH imo. That being said, I see LKH/HHC as interchangeable at this point. But if HHC is in form, he should get the nod.

    7. Formations: 3-5-1 - ridiculous. 4-3-3 - not ideal. We're a 4-4-2 side at this point. We can shift from 4-5-1 to 4-4-1-1 to possibly 4-2-3-1 but the majority of our play needs to be kept at a 4-4-2.

    8. KSG - the worst kicker of the ball of any of our GKs. Such bad distribution. He's always good for at least 1 fatal/near-fatal counterattack with his kicks. ANd what's up with the pathetic punching of the ball even when he should grab it with both hands? Terrible habit.

    9. LCM - played well in both appearances. He should be ahead of JWY. If PJH needs to play LB, then LCM should play alongside KSY rather than the useless JWY.

Out for at least 6 weeks. This is why I wanted STY to bring Hong Chul along to these friendlies... PJH really should be tested alongside KSY. And Hong Chul should have been tested in teh backup LB spot.

KSW must not go to the WC. It would be a travesty if he went ahead of both SHJ and JDW. We absolutely must test SHJ and JDW in the next friendlies and prepare them for the WC to play in a 4-4-2. none of this 4-3-3 bullshit at this point. We have to dumb it down as much as possible.

Wow I agree with you on every point.
    - HJH fcking needs to regain his form. I had big hopes but I guess it's way too early.
    - KSG can't kick. CHW is much better in build up play. He's better at everything minus experience. - HHC is useful and plays well with SHM.
    - LJS needs to bulk up asap.
    - We need SHJ asap.

And finally, no to: 3-back system, Wookie and STY's 2 sons.

I don't think anyone can just bulk up in a limited amount of time unless they take steroid...Then there's a problem of having to adjust to that body which slows you down and decrease your stamina...

At this point we're just a 'happy to be here' team and nothing more. I've never gone into a WC expecting so little, and I feel like I'm still going to be disappointed.

The sad part is that there's room to improve with this squad. With a good management things can be better, but STY will always surprise us with coming up with something so mindboggling that it just becomes a new norm now.

You know what the worst thing was watching us play Poland?

My head knew we were thoroughly embarrassed and the match was lost when Poland decided to make their substitutions and stop really playing. I knew they were experimenting and testing out certain players. And I knew they stopped taking us seriously.

But I was still hoping deep inside for a goal. And when the first one went in, I was hoping for the second even though it would allow STY to polish his turd of a match. And then when the second one went in, I still wanted the third and then was pissed off when we conceded, even though I knew it would happen the moment JWY failed to mark his man.

I know we're going to be three and out. I know we're likely to be embarrassed and humiliated even worse than WC98 when Blanco first ripped us a new one after we went ahead and then Hiddink demolished us with 5 goals. But I'll still be crushed when it happens even though I know our side is awful with defenders that can't defend and with this awful fcktard of a manager in charge. Sigh. :(:speechless:

LJS may be too thin, but he's not frail. The one thing that I really like about him (and KCH) is that he presses the opposition with ferocity. Yes, he will be pushed off the ball in a compact, final third. But on the wings, he rarely gets pushed off the ball when pressing or counterattacking.
