Yes, they struggled at the beginning of the 2nd half. The team has looked better in the last few minutes. They have had more possession and had a couple of chances to score.

I'd like to see France's lineup, I though I read that they had called up some 97s and some pretty high profile guys. But I think we may just be getting out played. But I also wouldn't say that (from my limited knowledge) this is the best backline we could put up. I like Rogers and Real, but I didn't think McKenzie as a top prospect when I went through a phase of liking Philly's academy also Manny Perez is some what new to the RB position. But I could be out of my depth in these statements. But I'd wager that a backline with Durkin and/or Sands (despite both seemingly being CMs to me) would maybe be stronger.

Manny Perez has looked better than Real but both have been unimpressive.

    Anyone know who 23 is?

Edit: It's Richie Ledezma. Big fan so far. Great composure on the ball.

Most of our shots have either been right at the French goalkeeper or well wide.

Yeah, but let's just recognize we're essentially watching second teams play, and if both teams brought their best XI, I bet it's worse. For the US, we're missing, among others, and in no specific order:
Tillman, Amon, Fontana, Pomykal, Taitague, Adams, Servania, Weah, Durkin, Lindsey, Richards, Dest, Konrad, Booth, and Hilton.

From players I can name, France is missing:
Lafont, Gouiri, Adli, Sarr, Cuisance, and Zagadou, and I don't even pay attention to their youth programs. Those are all players I've watched either play pro or in India, and those guys are would tear our best team apart.

those are both 19, and could have played in this if we were truly fielding our best players under 20.......of course they are too good for the U-20 but im just making a point

Would they tear our best team apart? I don't know about that.

Weah, Sargent, Pulisic, Carleton, Adams, Mckinnie is a pretty serious front 6. Tear us apart? ehhhhh, i dunno man....2 of those guys are playing ball for top 3 clubs in Germany. One is getting time for PSG. One is a top 2-3 young propsect in the MLS that teams were trying to buy this offseason and the other two are probably 2 best american prospects coming up.......would France win? yea prolly if they had all their best players...but we would give them a game i have no doubt. Theres not a guy on France that could handle Pulisic though. At the U-20 level he would go in dry

Pulisic isn't eligible. If we include Pulisic, they include Mbappe.

Our real U-20 team against their real U-20 team would be a close game though, IMO.

No way. They would destroy us. Are we talking 97s and up or 98s? Because I could put together a French 11 of either that would run us off the field. For the 97s, I don’t think I would have to find a single player that’s played less than 1000 first team minutes this season.

They are better and deeper at every position. There is not a single youth setup in the world that can hold a candle to them. I’m glad we’re taking our U20s there because even this second string squad is better than anyone they’ve ever faced.

I could see a hypothetical match between two hypothetical lineups going any number of hypothetical ways.

    You're welcome!

99's and younger. I doubt you could name 10 French 99's and younger without searching the internet.

I didn't say they aren't better and deeper at every position, although every position isn't something I necessarily agree with. Being better doesn't mean they would beat us easily.

Recently, at the U17 level, we've been as good as France.
