@Chul0 @Grimmjow316 @nfiniti @SamKnight @slaminsams @edcalvi I've reunited you guys (feel free to tag anyone other Central American posters) so that I could open up a thread where we post about promising prospects from our respective countries and leagues. A cool synopsis on the player isn't mandatory, but is surely encouraged. I know personally for myself.. I enjoy learning about "joyas" from the other diverse countries that make up Central America and staying up to date with whose who. So with that said, Welcome and hopefully you guys and myself can keep this thread active well into the next generations!!!!!
I think right now the hottest commodity currently in Honduras is probably Michael Chirinos. A small diminutive winger that plys his trade with Olimpia. Very technical on the ball with extremely quick feet that helps him to evade defenders in reduced area. Was rumored to Necaxa during the last summer transfer window.. his likeliest destination seems to be either Mexico or MLS, with Spain being a distant third option for the gifted 22 yr old attacker. In a team full of "kids", Michael seems to be the creme de la creme already proving to be a key figure on the team going forward.
Only players from Local Leagues or some that are already abroad? This thread should also have a limit of 24 and Under.
I think Local leagues. Most of our better youth players play locally, unlike some of the bigger ones like Alberth Elis or Darixon Vuelto(albeit reserve league). I agree.. I think it should be like 21 and under but 23 or under is what I still call a "joven".
I'm really infatuated with that Nicholas Hagen kid from Guatemala(Municipal). He looks like the real deal. Next great Central American goalie after Navas, Penedo, y Buba. jajaja
I never received a notification from your tag @Catracho_Azul I just now saw it because I entered the forum. Most likely the others didn't either.
Who is Buba? Is it a nickname for Valladares? If tags aren't working you should post in the Customer Service forum.
Buba is the current back-up goalie at LAFC, but starter for Honduran NT. He's 24 but has already proved on the international stage that he's about as good or better than Noel Valladares. Both short in relative stature, Buba's legend began to rise from the Rio Olympics after his MOTM performance in Quarters against Korea.
The best Under-20 prospect in Honduras is by far, 18 yr old midfielder, Cristhian Calix of Marathon. An attacking midfielder who moves really fluid on the ball and has an amazing amount of technical ability to make something happen from closed areas. The U-20 International just came back from being on-trial at Espanyol where they told him he'll be invited back over the summer because he'll then be of age.
Right now there is no youngester in El Salvador I am to excited about however maybe @BKR inC knows some names
I've always been fascinated by youth players. I'm constantly championing them in the guate forums, yet they seldom justify my hype Anyways, this is my list which has been separated by position. I've tried to include as many players as possible and narrowed it down to u-23. Or else my list was gonna be too thin. Also bear in mind that our definition of "talent" is different from other countries. For us, a talent is someone that can become a starter for the national team, since let's face it we're not an exporting country. We have really low standards is what I'm really saying haha. Finally, those with the * symbol are the ones we'll be resting our greatest hopes on. So here it goes. GOALKEEPERS: *Nicholas Hagen (21): Greatest youth Talent we have no doubt. He managed to beat Paulo Motta (which imo is the best NT GK we've had in the last decade) to the #1 spot at municipal. If we weren't suspended he'd be the starting GK for the national team as well. Yes, even over Ricardo Jerez who plays in the Colombian League and the aforementioned Motta. Pros: Great reflexes, positioning & leadership. Penalty saving specialist. Cons: Still struggles in the air and though he has improved massively in this respect, he can improve his footwork and passing.
Freddy Perez (23): When he came into scene I thought Comunicaciones had found a "Hagen" their own. He made his debut as a 20 year old in a clasico being man of the match. He continued to keep clean sheets for like 6 games straight. However, he started making mistakes and it's currently the second choice. Idk if he'll ever become a solid GK, but he it's been 3 years since he did anything of note. So he must leave Cremas ASAP to find out. Pros: Great reflexes & penalty saver. Cons: Error prone, terrible in the Air & mentally weak. 0:43 Mateo Gularte (15): Not much I can write about this one. But he's spent the last 2 summers training with Pachuca, and they're known for their youth setup. Unlike most of our players he has a great support system. Pros: Work ethic. Cons: Dude's a midget. Don't know if he'll get any taller or even make it as a pro, but if he doesn't it won't be for lack of effort. Overall Trend: Great at saving penalties but terrible in the air.
Oh god list like this scare me, as we have had so many promising players who were playing abroad in some of the top clubs from river plate to Sevilla. All have flopped either playing in the second or third division of USA or disappeared completely from the face of the earth. I will try but whats the limit age or where they are playing at?
Somebody earlier said u23 and below however there isn’t really an age limit. As far as where they are playing don’t restrict that since our prospects are so bleak any restriction about where they are playing would really defeat the purpose
Thats tough Hmm well I would have to say Ronald Cerritos Jnr is showing real promise as he was standout during el salvador most recent participation in a tournament. As for in the domestic league front Fernando Castillo from FAS, Rudy Clavel from Alianza, Daniel Luna from Pasaquina, Roberto Dominguez from Santa Tecla,
CENTRAL DEFENDERS *Carlos Estrada (20): He's been playing in the maximum flight ever since he turned 15. He even managed to captained Malacateco until he moved to Comunicaciones. However, he has stagnated due to multiple injuries so he was demoted to Cremas B for this season in the hopes that he can recover. Let's see if he can. Attributes: Great ball playing ability, fast, goal scorer & leadership Flaws: Too rash in the tackle, not as strong or tall and prone to stupid mistakes. He also doesn't look as comfortable in a back 4 as opposed to a back 3. Two of his goals Kevin Ruiz (22) : He's like an older yet less talented Estrada. He managed to captained suchitepequez til he moved to Municipal. With Suchi he managed to hold his own in the CCL as a defensive midfielder which is where he has been playing for municipal. Attributes: Versatile, relatively fast and good on the ball Flaws: Not strong or dominat in the air, poor spatial awarness Axel Reyes (21): This one is a personal choice based exclusively on his playing style. Unlike Ruiz, he is a defensive midfielder who can play as a central defender. He's usually brought on for antigua gfc when trying to defend a lead. As for his playing style, when he played for the u-20 (next to Estrada) he would dribble his way out of trouble from his own area. Dangerous but really fun to watch. Attributes: Versatility, strength (built like a tank) and ball playing ability Flaws: Too risky, excessive strength and lack of concentration and positional awareness Overall Trend: We're gonna struggle in air alot. We're not producing dominant defenders but compared to previous generations our defenders are comfortable with the ball.
Nicaragua talent wise I would Arianger Smith, he just signed a deal and made his first apperance in Lativia for Spartak Jumarla This kid has had huge hype since he burst on the scene and even trialed for udense in italy as a junior
Just like that.. one of Honduras most promising gems is off to Liga MX: #LIGABancomerMX 🇭🇳 Cristian Cálix es nuevo jugador del Atlas FC. Llega procedente del CD Marathón. #CONFIRMADO #FichajesMXD 🔥 pic.twitter.com/BfRhWeNwpo— MX Draft (@MXDraft) December 26, 2018
