Given the poor and unimpressive performances from MLS sides (USA teams) we have to question why they still deserve 4 spots when they don't improve and in the last 2-3 years MLS teams are just wasting space and not offering real competition. On the other hand, Canada has done better than USA despite having only 1 spot and not being seeded. Also, Costa Rica, Panama, and Honduras have better chances of upsetting Liga MX than MLS does and honestly those 3 countries' leagues are as good or even better than MLS. So for the US to continue to underperform it's ridiculous to still get 4 spots AND be seeded.

So for future CCL I suggest the USA get only 2 or 3 spots instead of 4 and play in the 1st round instead of automatically advancing to the KO stage. Canada deserves another spot and a seed and I'd argue 1 more could go to CR/HON/PAN.

You do know that those MLS teams you hate so much are also established in Canada and that the team that represents Canada is actually an MLS team? You know that, right?

And if no one can give competition to Liga MX just stick to watching Copa MX or the regular Liga MX season. Central America teams are no comp either for Liga MX. The only that has done something decent, and it was a while back, was Saprisa.

I would really have liked to see MLS in mid season form vs Liga MX in mid season form in this tournament but it is something that MLS is not willing to change. They rather sacrifice this tournament than their regular season. Is the same thing Liga MX did; they sacrificed Libertadores because their schedule conflicted with CONMEBOL and they weren't willing to change it.

Sick of the pre season excuse. Your football is poor, period. Man up and drop the excuses.

No way does MLS deserve to have the same spots as Liga Mx. Crazy to think they could have 1 more spot if Toronto would've lost the Canadian Championship.

Give 1 spot of theirs to Central America.

Worth pointing out the effectively (but not officially) has 5 spots in the CCL. Everyone seems to forget that Canada is part of MLS.

Anyway, I know that when most people say MLS, they mean the American sides. And when the new CCL format was announced, I was one to think that 4 slots to the USA and just one to Costa Rica was probably not right. Despite Costa Rica's past results in the CCL, which are similar to but slightly under those of the USA, they only have one guaranteed spot (to USA's four) and have outside chances of two or three depending on the CONCACAF League or federations not meeting minimums. As such, I think it would be totally fair if one of Costa Rica's CONCACAF league spots was swapped with one of USA's CCL spots, so the two nations have two and three automatic CCL spots, respectively. Aside from that, though, I think things are fairly even.

(And yes, I am saying that even as FCD is stinking it up against Tauro. Based on the previous encounters between those two particular team, I kinda expected that. I hope and expect Seattle and NYRB to do better tomorrow.)

Man up to what? When did I say MLS was "mine"? I watch soccer if it's on TV regardless of which league it is. I don't claim any league as mine. And from what I have seen from both leagues, Liga MX is more exciting and way better than MLS.

How do they determine the number of spots? Irritates me spots can't be awarded by league. To think MLS was a Canadian championship upset from not having its best team represented (Toronto FC) disturbs me.
