Morata also is a total headcase and is lacking in confidence which just compounds all of the issues you brought up. Our strikers being isolated has been an issue since the dawn of time. Its like our managers tactics work for 2-4 months then its the “hope Hazard carried us” strategy each week

Yoof were knocked out of the EFL trophy on penalties last night by Lincoln City which I have to say is good for the competition. Teams like Lincoln don't often get their day out at Wembley and let's be honest, it wouldn't be a big turnout of Chelsea fans for the final.
Maybe, but we've drawn good support. There 1000 Chelsea fans who made the trip last night and that stadium seats 10k. Pretty good turnout for a side who featured 8 kids under 18 playing grown men who made the semi's in the FA Cup last season.
Yep and we will always have a passionate core, but we'd need 40k+ for Wembley and that will likely clash with a Premier League match. And even if we get them, the chances of them being as excited as for an FA Cup Final is nil. So far better for Lincoln fans to get the chance to go than see a half filled, relatively quiet Chelsea end. End of the day the main thing is our youngsters put together a great run against senior opposition. The experience overall for the players will be valuable.
Holdup play was decent today too, not great but decent. Pretty remarkable what a little service does for a striker how has good positioning. He's been involved in all of Dortmund's goals since his arrival. Say what you will, he was completely wasted by Conte.
That winning goal was exactly what you expect a striker to put away. Poor clearance straight to a BVB player who passes straight to Bats who turns and fires far corner. We need a striker who can do that.
I know Schurrle has come back to Earth, but he scored the other. He was part of a really fantastic goal a few years back. https://giphy.com/gifs/hot-chelsea-4PxQMPDkWe1W0 I didn't watch the match today, but how was Michy used? Did he hold the ball up a lot? Or was he just a target man.
Who cares. I remember how over specific you guys got with “mourinho type players” and its like dude, if you can play you can play. The specifics get so overblown
False equivalency, wo0o0o0o0 Let's do a quick throwback to the kid everyone here thought had an attitude problem and wasn't "our" kind of player: Kevin De Bruyne Let's throw Salah in the bucket too. Lukaku? Why not. Mata? Might as well tbh. But you want to bring up a player who has been bang on average since his explosive entry into our team with the 3-4-3. Right-o
Tbh, I don't know why I care to argue. Conte got it wrong (or just flat out doesn't like him, all the BS about needing to adapt to his "idea" of football) with Michy, that much is clear as day. Will be happy to have the Batsman back with us.
You don’t understand what false equivalence means. If Moses has been “bang average” for a title winning side why wasn’t he able to get playing time at all his other clubs? And then you use Mata and Salah as examples, which is a joke, since Mata has now completely failed to reproduce his form for club and country for years now. If he could just play, why didn’t he do it well for LvG or now for Jose? Salah didn’t play that well for Chelsea, was good not great for Fiorentina, got better at Roma but was never as good before as he is now st Liverpool. The lesson? He needed a lot of playing time to be this good and he wasn’t good enough to get that time with us. Almost no player is good enough to “just play” in any system. Dennis Bergkamp failed at Inter in his prime. Robben was forced out at Real. Zlatan was dumped by Pep’s Barca in his prime. Didi failed at Real. Mendieta went from a player Barca were desperate to buy to dross at Lazio within one season. Cesc was unable to fit in at Barca. Your dumb idea that a player with talent can play in any system is nonsense. We watched Michy struggle to lead the line against mediocre EPL clubs! That wasn’t a mirage - that happened! Should we have altered our system to play to his strengths? Of course not! Sometimes good players don’t fit good systems. It happens. It happened with Conte and Michy. Now, should we have sold KDB? No. But how the ******** is that on Conte?
Things were going well last year. This year, things with the club are going badly. Of course, even when we won the title last year Michy wasn’t much of a factor, but whatever.
You think Michy will do well with the experience? He does everything generally well except holding the ball and bringing others into play. Not sure if he will improve that at Dortmund with their style of play. All moot point if Conte leaves and we hire Enrique (terrible choice btw).
