Not news but can one of the mods clean up the sub-forums. FC Tucson has a sub-forum and they aren't even a team in USL. Harrisburg changed their name, Orlando City moved up and Wilmington moved down and doesn't even exist anymore. Also now that USL is announcing teams for USL 2 or 3 or whatever they call it maybe get a sub-forum set up for it in here.
Yes they can go into the newly created USL D3 sub-forum. Also North Carolina and Indy should be moved as well. Maybe Create some Defunct Team Archive forum like the one Chivas USA has but for all of them. That way the San Francisco Deltas and Wilmington forums aren't just deleted. I'm really just spitballing ideas right now.
Hi, thanks for the suggestions. But here's a couple reminders and points. The mods for this forum, do not have the power to do some of the things you asked. We can put in a request to the super mods to do things like move those NC and Indy over to the USL leagues forums. The forum that FC Tucson and Wilmington are in is called USL Leagues. So they are fine where it is. As we get more into the league and closer to the launching of D3 we can discuss possible changes in the Forum. But will still need the super mods to make more of the big changes.
Thanks for the reply. These things were just something I've been curious about for a while but unsure of who and where to ask.
not to dance on their grave...really wish it had all played out differently: http://www.espn.com/soccer/north-am...or-injunction-to-reinstate-division-ii-status
kinda funny in a sad way... Ryan Allen @ILM_Ryan 5h5 hours ago #USL has more English managers (6: Fresno, Nashville, OKC, Real Monarchs, Richmond and San Antonio), than the @premierleague (5: Bournemouth, Burnley, Crystal Palace, Everton, West Brom)
Opening nite, for Swope Park Rangers, They must have locked the stadium to keep the fans out, because there seems to be zero at the the game.
Swope Park on a Wednesday night drew 700 brave souls to Children Mercy park. That will be the average for the team in USL 2 for them.
Indy Eleven - New house. New league. New team. New Coaching staff. WE ARE NOT IN THE NASL!!!!!!!! Give us our own USL forum page moderators.......PLEASE!
This is an interesting story. So, follow me here: very wealthy individual founds a lower-level team. It does well, probably generates more revenue than most lower-level teams. Yet this high-wealth individual has lost multiple millions of dollars and may not be able to continue to do that. But I'm sure League Zero and fan-owned clubs will be fine just letting anyone in, without regard for the Professional League Standards. Big help.
Great article; this shows how difficult the decisions are to operate a professional team. Of the numerous factors involved is owning your stadium is one of the biggest. Indy pursued their own stadium but have failed to acquire one and now comes the move to Lucas Oil Stadium. That's got to be expensive and more expenses on top of previous loses is either brave or franchise ending. Hoping for the best.
Not really sure why the NC subforum exists at this point. It's been a ghost town for several years. Other than the RailHawks->NCFC rebrand and the NWSL relocation of the Flash to the NC Courage, almost all NCFC/RailHawks talk has happened in the main NASL forum. EDIT: And don't let the "SKC" in my profile fool you. I'm a former RailHawks and current Courage team photographer who has probably worked more Sahlen's (SAS/WakeMed) Stadium events than any non-employee since it opened in 2002 for the original WUSA Courage, and I've lived in the Triangle since 1982 but for my college time at KU. To be honest almost all of the individual club subforums should probably be closed at this point.
The whole lower division sections of BS are a mess. Forums for former NASL that are now in USL are still in the NASL section. USL expansion teams that are now playing are still in the expansion section. Teams that will play D-3 are mixed in with USL-2. Needs to be organized better. And while we're at it, why is PDL a sub-forum under USL when NPSL is a sub-forum of the college board when both leagues are basically summer leagues for college players?
Stuart Hultgren @StuartHultgren 17h17 hours ago Possible 3 conference alignment if: * FCC joins MLS * El Paso, Memphis, Birmingham Legion join USL * Ottawa Fury stay in USL * No MLS2 teams join or leave USL
Looks good to me. If teams play each club in conference three times that really increases the chance that I can travel to each town at least once. Plus decreased travel for the clubs means cheaper cost of operation and less jet lag. Three conference set-up needs to happen if the league is going to keep growing. Hell, if it keeps growing at this rate we'll need divisions within conferences soon enough.
A quick glance at that map also makes clear how many more places there are that could add a USL team at some point in the future with the right ownership.
