The conference alignments and home openers are out. Indy will be in the Eastern Conference with Cincinnati, Louisville, and Nashville among others. St. Louis got moved to the West this year. The home openers: Indy will have an away game on March 24 at the Richmond Kickers and then host Cincinnati on March 31. The rest of the schedule will be out soon.
It looks like a lot of Wednesday games this year in the league. I supposed that was inevitable with the odd number of teams and the move up to 34 games. For Indy Eleven: Home games: Wednesday - 4 Saturday - 13 Away games: Tuesday - 1 Wednesday - 2 Thursday - 1 Friday - 1 Saturday - 10 Sunday - 2 That's quite a variety for away games. Still, 23 of the 34 are on Saturday overall.
The Indy Eleven will play its home games rent free at Lucas Oil Stadium and the city and team will each pay part of the operating expenses at the city-owned venue. The details of the one-year deal are still being worked out, said Capital Improvement Board President Melina Kennedy after a Monday press conference. It’s not clear yet, Kennedy told IBJ, what share of the operating expenses the city will pay versus what the team will pay to play most of its games at Lucas Oil, rather than IUPUI's Carroll Stadium, which has been its home. Kennedy said the deal will be finalized “soon.” https://www.ibj.com/articles/67281-...e-at-lucas-oil-stadium-bigger-crowds-expected
To keep costs down, The Eleven will only use two entries—north and south end—and likely curtain off the top sections of the stadium. The Eleven plan to use about 12,000 seats in the venue’s lowest level and possibly 4,000 seats in the next level up, Belskus said. Overall, the stadium has 67,000 seats. “We expect 16,000 for our home opener March 31 against Cincinnati,” Belskus said. “We think our fan base is going to be very excited and FC Cincinnati drew 22,000 per game last year—and they travel—so we expect a number of them will be coming here.” https://www.ibj.com/articles/67281-...e-at-lucas-oil-stadium-bigger-crowds-expected
If you look at the schedule on the team's website, it shows that eight of the 17 home matches will be on Wednesdays. This will not help attendance.
That is quite a change from earlier. When I looked at the schedule a couple of weeks ago there were only 4 Wednesday home games.
Wow! Lots of changes! I struck-through the original schedule games that were eliminated. RED are the new games. These four games stayed on the same day of the week: The home Bethlehem Steel game was moved from a Saturday in September to a Saturday in May. The Atlanta United 2 game was moved from a Saturday in June to a Saturday earlier in June. The Cincinnati home game was moved from a Wednesday in August to a Wednesday in May. The Tampa home game was moved from a Wednesday in June to a Wednesday in August. These four were moved from Saturday to Wednesday: The Charleston home game was moved three days earlier from a Saturday to Wednesday. The Toronto home game was moved from a Saturday in April to a Wednesday in August. The Pittsburgh home game was moved from a Saturday in July to a Wednesday in August. The NYRBII home game was moved up three days earlier from a Saturday to Wednesday in September. Revised breakdown. For Indy Eleven: Home games: Wednesday - 8 Saturday - 9 Away games: Tuesday - 1 Wednesday - 2 Thursday - 1 Friday - 1 Saturday - 10 Sunday - 2 Now 19 of the 34 are on Saturday overall.
As always, appreciative of your work. With the move to LOS and the big discount on season tickets, I had thought about going back to them after a year away. But Wednesday nights are difficult for me. I guess I’ll stick to single game tickets.

Yeah, I considered just doing it for the conference but I'm also following RGV so it is easier for me to just do the whole thing and post it twice.

The south end has sold out (even after opening an additional section). They haven't said much about other sections, other than that sales are going well. When I got my tickets last week, I had a pretty good selection of available locations near but not at midfield.
Good to hear. I was living in southern Indiana when the team was announced but moved to Ohio before they had a game.
