Holland will be back, you don't have to worry about that.
It will take about 10 to 15 years though in my opinion, because we are just a small country and only have a 17 million population to draw from.

But trust me we WILL be back!!! :sneaky:

In my not so humble opinion, at least 15 years.

We are too small a country to rebuild as quickly as Germany, Brazil or Italy

Yes maybe im wrong, but what i mean was i think they peaked 2015-2016 when they won copa two times. 2017 was not a good year for them with the qualify. And after they won copa two times, i dont know how to say it in english but they acted like they was best in the world and it went over their heads, I think that squad have aged too. I mean many those players started that journey 2010. And they have been great and played really good. I dont think they gonna be that good again but i can be wrong.

Chile are finished. No top talents to replenish their ageing squad. For WC2022 Vidal will be 35yo and he's headed for an early exit with his lifestyle choices, Alexis turns 30 this year (in 4 years time he'll have lost a step or two as well), Bravo already is past it, the others are also very old, ... in 4 years there won't be much to Chile.

Ahh ok. Di Biagio has never coached any clubs. Only Italy U21, however I would much rather have a coach that has been successful with the U21 side than an unproven coach that has coached many clubs before like Mancini. Mancini is not unproven but he has been so so a lot.

Its quite different when it comes to national teams, and Di Biagio has the experience of it. I feel he would be a good candidate. Almost all games I have seen him coach: players showed heart, hunger, and determination. He was a little unlucky a few times though.

In 2015 U21: we were dominating Portugal the whole game and should have won that. The goal was just cursed. Also you can probably tell because Portugal beat Germany 5-0 in the semifinals while it was a 0-0 draw. Not sure why we thew away a lead to Sweden because I didn't watch the game, but I know Sturaro got sent off as well as a Swedish player. And then we beat England 3-1.

In 2017 U21: we did very well against Denmark and Germany. Lost to the Czechs because of a few experimental tactics by Di Biagio and defense was very shaky. We performed so well against Spain honestly. We lost because Gagliardini got sent off. Even when we were a man down our performance was impressive. Bernardeschi equalized, and we kept pushing hard to the last min. I think we could of won if Gagliardini didn't get the red. He even said he was so sorry for this unforgivable thing he did.

  8. Interesting to know about the Dutch connection with the Mexican national team!

    https://www.vi.nl/nieuws/te-kloese-nieuwe-directeur-mexicaanse-voetbalbond

    etc.

Hope my Yank friends donot read this article!

^^If Marcel Brands moves to Everton, van Gaal would be an option. I really don't think he will come to manage the US National Team. Our regional competition (equivalent to the Euros) is weak and there is nothing for him to gain. Next WC is four years away and he will be 70 years old then.

It looks like it will take some time to rebuild Netherlands.
Of course they have some good talent, teams like Netherlands will always have it, but they are very far from top national teams right now.
Not only far from Germany, France or Brazil but even England and Uruguay have a more talented team right now.

I agree with Chile being over by now. They had their golden generation and luckily for them they won their only 2 Copa America in history, but now those players are old or will be old for the next World Cup and it doesn't look like there will be another golden generation soon.
I think their last tournament with these players in a good level will be Copa America 2019, although I doubt they win it.

Italy looks like they have more material to rebuild their national team, although I think it will take them some time to compete seriously for the World Cup.

My country Argentina has the last chance to win World Cup with Messi in his best level. Unfortunately the team doesn't look good.
There is good talent for the future but not a player like Messi.

Colombia have a golden generation right now but have won zero titles.
Their goal is to have a very good performance at the World Cup even if they don't win and they should put all eforts to win Copa America 2019.

Brazil and Germany are the only 2 national teams in the world that always have a golden generation coming and even when they do bad they can rebuild even in less than 4 years like Brazil did.
They are the 2 biggest national teams and the 2 with more squad depth potential since they both have big populations who love football and have millions playing in clubs.
These 2 will always be candidates to win.

A billion damage claim seems an overstretch, but I really hope a huge payout is being slapped on this criminal. Just look back at what efforts he made to injure Messi.
A judge is a good way to end the thuggery on the pitch like those assaults by Totally hHotshit players on Kevin de Bruyne. Make them pay big time. When they are being hit where it hurts the most, their wallet, things are going to change rapidly.

Quite right. It's good for a couple of headlines and that is it.

  14. It turns out Ramos did inflict a concussion to Karius by elbowing him. I really hope this shithead gets an Arab referee and with the first foul he produces is red carded immediately.

    https://nos.nl/artikel/2244750-van-gaal-slaat-niet-te-weigeren-aanbod-af.html

It was the USMNT job and Van Gaal says it would have been a dream job, perfect for him but he refused the offer (that you can't refuse, except if you're a sex masochist and love your wife).

Also, LVG is 90% certain he'll call time on his career. He has angled after the Belgium job before. I hope that 10% is about another team, LVG seeking revenge on Man United perhaps.

Mbappe saves the day for France as they get two goals in the final five minutes to salvage a draw. Stupid Sigthorrsson punches a ball out from in the box thinking the referee would not see it and Mbappe makes sure of the PK for goal number 2.

Not at all. I'm just wondering if they'll be able to keep up this form indefinitely, or if they will revert back to where they were 20 years ago soon
