Ahum, he's at the moment doing fine at Heerenveen and he's hardly dry behind his ears yet. So he doesnot belong in the list. In fact the list can only contain players older than 22, as these have had the chance to prove themselves. A kid being 18 year old cannot being nominated as he hasnot started yet.

I thought Adam Maher was still in Turkey but no he is with PSV and saw action in their cup tie today.
Maher is a big prospect for the Adu Award. Going from Talent of the Year 2012 to someone hard to sell in 2017/2018 is a fast downwards spiral.
Our trophy namesake stated he intends to return to professional soccer!!! Teams are lining up right now to sign him!!!
We lack the money. The Argentinian striker PSV signed was ment to go our way, but we couldnot afford him. A star like Freddy is a wet dream
I don't understand why Feyenoord's finances are still so bad. You have been selling a lot of players and have not been recklessly purchasing new ones. What is the story?
The finance side is fine, no problems. Spending is done with caution, so the 10 million asking price for Romero was deemed too high, beyond the comfort zone. The main problem though is that the Feyenoord management is rather grounded in Europe and spends too little time exploring and watching the Latin competitions. I mentioned the Yank kid of 18 year old that managed to bench a Mexican national team player. Voetbal International wrote about him about a week later. Given that we are going to have a rebuild of the midfield he would be a very good option.
He's back playing!!!! Freddy just got a contract from the Las Vegas Lights of the USL here in the US. http://www.espn.com/soccer/las-vega...registered-with-new-usl-club-las-vegas-lights
TBF Benteke didn't come with a lot of hype when he started out. Early on he moved for low transfer fees and tended to exceed expectations (up until he singlehandedly kept Villa up). After his move to Liverpool however things went sour fast. Also, when he's down on confidence he's useless. Yet when he has his tail up, or he's pissed off, he can be unplayable and has scored some real worldies. A shame he's stuck in a rot, as it stands now he'll miss out on another World Cup. We were talking about Sandler's move to City. Here are a few Belgian defenders that didn't quite work out at City: Mangala (became the world's most expensive defender and switched to France), Bossaerts (captained City's youth teams but struggled with injuries and has flopped badly), Denayer (seems to have attitude problems, has been disciplined, hopefully can turn things around) and Boyata (the new Kompany just isn't as good as the original Kompany, found his level at Celtic). For not living up to what was an insane amount of hype, Januzaj would be my pick (from Belgium).
This brings up an interesting question about whether there should be an age limit to qualify for the Freddy Adu award; maybe players over the age of 30 cannot contend???
I suggest players over 30 should still qualify for the "Lifetime (lack of) Achievement Award". We'll make that a special category, and perhaps name it the Afellay award??
I agree with this. So we'll set the minimum age for the Freddy Adu award at 25, and for the Lifetime Lack of Achievement Award we'll set it at 32. How's that??
