Those stats are wrong though. Caro has two goals in the Bundesliga. The goal she scored in the last game against Köln has not been added. She also has five assists in that competition, but that goes unnoticed to most people as it isn't listed everywhere. Caro has been through a dry spell when it comes to scoring, missed some unbelievable chances, which happens to most players from time to time, but is the go-to-player when you want to break down tightly organized defences and create openings for others, and Wolfsburg will meet a lot of those teams after the winter break. Wolfsburg's style hasn't changed much if you ask me. It's a continuation of Kellermann's work.

The lists probably aren't biased or anti anything. The woso coverage is like the men's game in the 1960s and 70s. People watch the major NT championships on tv and read stats from club football abroad to form an opinion. Very little is available to the general public. Apart from the big NT tournaments, the list makers have probably only seen half of their Top 100 players on a couple of gifs on twitter.

This can't wait until the Friday update: Dutch captain Sherida Spitse has signed for Vålerenga. She teams up with former colleagues at LSK like Isabell Herlovsen and coach Monica Knudsen. We might see LSK dethroned next year. Other top clubs have only reeled in small fish so far.

What Knudsen does is simply to gather back her old squad

Andrea Norheim moving from Lyon up north to Piteå. Good signing for them, they're always defensively strong but lacking in attacking power.

Interesting signing. I'm curious to know where Norheim stands at the moment. She never truly set Toppserien alight, and her transfer to Lyon was quite shocking. She hasn't been all that impressive for Norway's U19 NT who flopped in the Euro qualifiers earlier this year either. She has basically only played reserve team football over the last year or so.

I blame it on the time zone problem. I've also been busy watching winter sports on TV. Good to see Elise have success first time playing abroad.

Despite winning their first ever trophy in November, there has been turmoil recently at Avaldsnes. Head coach Per Inge Jacobsen and his assistant Kent Michael Bøe have left the club because they didn't accept that the club's newly assigned sports manager Lena Tyriberget, currently coaching the U17 NT, should have the final say in team selections. Avaldsnes approached Klepp's successful coach Olli Harder about a transfer, but he didn't accept that role either. Now we'll have to wait and see if any coach at all accepts a role like that.

A number of players have also expressed their negative opinions about the board's leadership at Avaldsnes, most notably Ingrid Ryland who left the club. Arne Utvik will need to sort this out soon. Seven head coaches in five seasons shows something is not right at Avaldsnes. It will be hard to take those final steps towards the top in the Norwegian game with so much inconsistency. Most of the foreign players from last season won't return in March and Avaldsnes don't look like winners on the transfer market so far this winter.

As for Kinga, I just properly celebrated her on Nadeshiko thread ;): was waiting for highlights, that were strangely quite late on Aussie-League website.

They've been a bit of a mess since Utvik took over, haven't they? I believe I saw it stated (by Mjelde?) they're the only fully professional team in Norway as well, so it certainly hasn't been the resources that've been lacking, either.

To put it simple; no Arne Utvik and no Avaldsnes in Toppserien. His financial support has been decisive to their success. He has been there since the days in the 3rd division. But as the club has established itself at the top in Norway, new challenges arise. Whether he and the board have what it takes to bring the club further forward is a question still unanswered. Critics say there is also a touch of nepotism at Avaldsnes. Utvik himself and also other board members have daughters in the squad. This can cause problems in fields such as player selections.

This is mostly what I was referring to. Sure, they wouldn't be in Toppserien without him, but most likely they'd also be less of a mess.
If you'd given the resources he's invested in Avaldsnes to a well managed club and stayed out of the way people who ran things they'd probably have taken gold by now.

The double Italy games away for the U17 NT in the winter is beginning to look like an annual tradition. Three or four years in a row now.

We should mix it up and have them play in Norway every other time. Maybe somewhere like Tromsø, I'm sure the southerners would enjoy that!

Avaldsnes have just signed American-Brazilian Cristiane Lessa as new coach. She will be sort of an understudy to sports manager Lena Tyriberget, who will have the final say on team selections. A quite experimental solution, if you ask me.

What separates this silly season winter to the one last year is deeper coaching staff recruitments. With the new millions injected in Norwegian woso, we've seen recently retired players sign up as player development coaches. Clubs couldn't afford that earlier. Stabæk just added Ingvild Stensland to their staff. Solveig Gulbrandsen and Trine Rønning now at Kolbotn. Cecilie Berg Hansen joins Hege Riise's staff at LSK. More to follow.

Looks like that the adventure of the player in Italy lasted only 1 month, but when I read that she didn't come back to Firenze after the Christmas vacation for "family reasons", the signing for a local club would have been the logical outcome...:( I wonder why which has been the real reason of this decision, but probably we won't ever know...
On the other hand Ingrid Spord played 90' and scored her first goal for Fiorentina in the 4-0 win away vs. Res Roma.
