I'm hearing rumors that Zardes has been sold. This is important https://t.co/0SKhV4xddx— The Squadcast (@Squadcast96) December 7, 2017 Sources telling you GZ is going?— L.A. Native🇵🇸 🍉 (@_LA_Native) December 7, 2017 https://t.co/Sz5lfsNrsA— The Squadcast (@Squadcast96) December 7, 2017
Corner Of The Galaxy @GalaxyPodcast I’m told the report out of Turkey saying Wesley Sneijder is joining the LA Galaxy is "not accurate.” We were told a little while back that neither Galaxy nor LAFC was interested in the player.
Great, another attacking CM. I think Sneijder would end up being closer to Gerrard 2.0 than Keane 2.0 in terms of overall impact Galaxy--at least this version of Galaxy
According to this: http://www.eurosport.no/fotball/eli...-klar-for-ny-klubb_rbk_sto6436276/story.shtml We are going to sign a guy named Skjelvik and he will be the highest paid defender in MLS. He was a left back who was converted to center back. Apparently he has been very good at centerback. His contract is expiring so we won't have to pay a transfer fee which helps.
If we sign anyone for a central midfield or central withdrawn forward roll or even a winger then I'll riot. We need a pure forward We need defenders We need a defensive midfielder We need a goalie. We better actually address our needs this offseason

I don't think Gio was very productive in 2015 and you clearly think he was which is our source of disagreement. Per the official Galaxy stats for 2015, Gio scored 3 goals in 10 games started in the regular season and 0 goals in his 1 playoff game also started. So that is 3 goals in 11 games or an average of approximately 1 goal every 3.6 games. In my opinion this is below average expectations for a DP striker. About the only thing you can say that was above average for his 2015 performance were his 6 assists in 11 games. Your argument seems to suggest that 2017 was an outlier in an otherwise productive career and that the Galaxy should expect Gio to play more like 2016 on a consistent basis. Mine is that 2016 was the outlier year for Gio in terms of productivity. Just looking at Wikipedia (which shows appearances and not starts), Gio has never been that productive other than when playing for Racing de Stantander in the Spanish second league while on loan and in 2016 for the Galaxy. That's two productive years out of 10.
This Skjelvik man seems to be our first signing. He is a LB recenty converted to CB. Assuming Cole is staying, I think we found our new CB. 26 years old norwegian international, interesting.
Also reddit user says he is "fast as fxxx" so no chance we will be signing him. We go for slow, old guys.
This is the la galaxy subreddit. I am a mod on there so I am going to promote that subreddit, but we are having a discussion about the player. One poster seems to know Skjelvik decently well. https://www.reddit.com/r/LAGalaxy/comments/7ia01i/norwegian_international_jørgen_skjelvik_to_la/
Coincidentally source told me today Galaxy were going to sign a center back from Rosenborg. Reports out of Norway indicate it's Skjelvik. https://t.co/4wwcevN8wb— Paul Tenorio (@PaulTenorio) December 8, 2017
So if Skjelvik works out, the Gs best CBs the past couple years would be converted LBs? JVD and Romney being the other ones.
.@MLS increases Targeted Allocation Money (TAM) investment for 2018, 2019: https://t.co/YJLKizOGRz— MLS Communications (@MLS_PR) December 8, 2017
"MLS clubs also will have the flexibility to spend up to an additional $2.8 million of TAM, on a discretionary basis funded by the team, per year in both 2018 and 2019, which will further enhance the quality of play across the league." Damn that is a big increase on the $1.2 million. We can buy Alessandrini's contract down so he is no longer a DP this way.
So Sigi has $1.2MM in' 18, can pull forward $1.2MM from '19 and the team could also spend out of its own pocket $2.8 in '18 and also in '19? Looks like TAM player costs have increased to $1.5MM? Sigi has a $5.2MM war chest to sign a bunch of $1.5MM players and buy them down with TAM!
Looks like there is still a cap on TAM salary, now $1.5MM. Romain is at $2MM so does not look like he is TAM eligible?
Yup, I don't think we'll be able to buy down Romain. This is a huge deal, though. It's $2.8m spent by the clubs themselves, a trending away from parity. Not to mention it's a ton of money.
