He is playing out of his mind right now. Shouldn't he be slowing down already. I still think he has a shot at the all time scoring record.
Definitely seems to have a shot - needs to play maybe 4 more seasons after this one? I'll be surprised if his body holds up, but he may just change his game up if like other players he loses his legs. Tim Duncan, Mr. Efficient only made it 19 seasons and he had one leg by the end. But it's amazing he's still doing what he's doing in season 15.
Joel Embiid... How do you stop a legit big man with post-moves, a dangerous three-point shot, guard-esque handles, good passing, and really fluid, athletic movement? The dude is literally NBA 2K create-a-player. Just not fair. I really hope he can stay healthy he's really fun to watch.
Yeah I like Kuzma from the littleni have seen Joel and Ben are gonna be 2 top 5 players on the same team in the nba by next year
Embiid is one of the most uniquely talented players I've ever seen. That said a bad Lakers team almost won that. Philly needs a real coach.
Laker haters still walking old tired sheit about Ball’s failures. I say 2 those “experts”: Really? It’s not Magic II out there? Stephen A., in particular, grinding this endlessly. Enuf Knick fanboy - like we don’t kno what’s up here? Please FFS take look at your sorryass Knicks. We get it. Moving on.
He has been really bad though. It's alarming... he was hitting these same exact shots in college. Ingram and Kuzma are looking good tho! #silverlining
Honestly I'm just tired of Ball talk. At this point I'm just at a place of: Ball is a terrible scorer right now but a great passer and rebounder, and his defence is above-average. He needs to develop his scoring to an average level, at which point he'll be a nightly triple-double threat. For right now, Ball is a poor player, but lots of rookies are.
I was literally just as alarmed about Ingram though, and he showed major progression. Being a rookie PG in the NBA is not easy; expecting greatness or even just being good is unlikely to occur for a 20-year-old with an underdeveloped body and average athleticism.
M Much respect to Simmons but let’s talk about his outside game. He got none. Wack form and teams dropping off/daring him to beat them. That catches up to teams the higher up the level gets.
Magic had no range either - just found ways to score. I’m really impressed with how good Simmons looks this early. He would have had a lot more assists if people knocked down more shots. Fun to watch those two play together.
Simmons and the Greek Freak don't have outside shots so your average defenders back off... which gives them space to drive and attack. Must be nice having all your fast twitch fibers.
Yea, but....Oregon State ain’t Celtics and zone D still around in Pac 12. Don McLean forecast current Ball probs last year. To wit: beneath the hype was no mid-range game and that’s a big missing part of anyone’s game who was basically taking freaky looking, flat-footed treys. I think he straightens it out. Maybe not this year. Building a gym & full b-ball court at his recently purchased $5.2 mil mansion a good Kobe-like move. All things said, I think ‘Zo is smart and just needs time.
Might be time 2 start 2017/2018 Laker thread? Lonzo talk gotta be going on too long for most around here?
This thread has three Lakers fans, a 76ers fan, a Spurs fan, a Washington fan, and two GSW fans. I don't think three people can justify a whole thread, and no one else seems to mind. Without Laker talk this thread would be pretty dead right now.
Yea, but I’m embarassed by Lonzo-talk now. Like, we got a lot more going on than worrying about Ball World. (Threw thread up right b4 u posted this)
So I guess Boston is for real. The question is would this team be better or worse with Gordon Heyward. In my opinion, there is no way this team is close to being this good defensively with him getting major minutes. It was stunning how well Boston played the Warriors on the defensive side of the ball.
