Looks likely that a CONCACAF Nations League will begin play in September 2018. Those games would likely be our first competitive matches after the T&T debacle. https://uk.reuters.com/article/uk-s...-new-nations-league-plan-source-idUKKBN1D81FD
Peru are stating that they will play either Mexico or the USA during the March 2018 FIFA dates: http://publimetro.pe/deportes/notic...estados-unidos-mexico-previo-rusia-2018-67824 Nothing confirmed obviously.
And here's the dedicated USMNT schedule page: https://www.ussoccer.com/mens-national-team/schedule-tickets
Possible friendly against France on June 9th in Lyon, according to the French national team's Twitter account: Et voilà les 5 prochains matchs des Bleus avant la Coupe du Monde 2018!👊 #FiersdetreBleus pic.twitter.com/odpBhWztFG— Equipe de France ⭐⭐ (@equipedefrance) December 7, 2017 USSF: "While the contract has not been signed, we are finalizing plans to play France on June 9 in Lyon. An official announcement is expected soon." #USMNT— Steven Goff (@SoccerInsider) December 7, 2017
#USMNT planning to play 2 friendlies in FIFA fixture window March 19-27: either 2 abroad or 1 at home and 1 abroad. USSF in talks with other federations.— Steven Goff (@SoccerInsider) December 11, 2017
I can't find the tweet, but wasn't there a rumor from a credible US journalist that one of the games would be against Italy?
https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/football/4919906/us-soccer-world-cup-holland-ghana-chile/ Also, France will play the USA. http://www.weathertech.com/?gclid=EAIaIQobChMIuNPU3eGW2AIVC9pkCh1_7gxJEAEYASAAEgIIK_D_BwE
USSF still working on 2 friendlies for #usmnt during March 19-27 FIFA window. Looking like both matches away, presumably in Europe. Perhaps an official announcement in coming weeks.— Steven Goff (@SoccerInsider) January 16, 2018
For whatever reason, they haven't announced the June game against France. Wikipedia has the team playing in Japan on March 23rd against Japan.
I have to think this is the database populating the USMNT entry from information in the Japan team page. Just like France announcing our game but USSF still not, seems Japan has released information that USSF is keeping secret for whatever reasons they have. Or just general dysfunction.
I wonder how this will affect the opportunity for the USA to play friendlies against top European Nations. What is the Uefa Nations League – and will it be successful? Basically UEFA are starting a nations league which means that all their "friendly" matches against other UEFA teams become competitive games with qualification for the Euros as the carrot.
That's strange, why in the world would we play Japan in Italy? I hope its in Japan so I can go see it.
Japan is getting ready for a European based World Cup. Their best players are in Europe in March. So, it doesn't take a lot of effort to see they could want to play there. Maybe they will play the USA and Italy in Italy. Then maybe the USA plays Italy also in that window.
