I don't think they will be considered for WC. But adding them for Gulf Cup if at all being held will be good experience for them. But again suddenly playing them in NT might not help too.. I know Mukhtar plays for senior team in Dutch league but this is different scenario..

So what's view on SAFF plan to push players to Europe specially La Liga. Some reports are Fahd has already sealed move to Spain on loan. Torino FC from Italy were scouting Moataz Hawsawi..

I believe if European clubs think Saudi players are worth it then they should come and get them instead the board here goes and say hire us or one possibility is since its long standing perception Saudi players and clubs don't encourage players go abroad then this might open doors for international clubs to come and witness some talent here...

It's a good start. Hope talented players such as Salem Aldowsary, Nawaf Alabid, Ahmed Alfariady, Yahya Shehri, Haza Alhaza, etc. goes abroad preferably in Spanish and then Italian club.

Hopefully it's not just a short-sighted shake-up just for the coming world cup. As a long term goal, this could further develop and refine the players

It would be short sighted if at all players fail and they will since 6 months is short time to get going with a new club in a new country and league. Plus clubs back home should not interfer if player wants to leave and clubs come looking for them which will happend most of the cases.

I think it should have been done long back but before WC seems not so promising.

I wish Saudi Arabia plays a friendly match against Holland and Chile.

I saw the match..The team is quick under Bauza unlike VMJ where we were slow and attacking tactically..
We have returned to the old playing styles where we just pass the ball and move forward and keep scoring which unlike only works when we are playing in Asia..For WC we need to change the game..

You like the fact that they have conceded 8 Goals in 4 games? This team is atrocious.

You cannot try to outrun and outpace european and South Americn teams simply because they are faster and stronger.

I'll give Bauza a slack, but The saudis have had continuity under Van Marwik and they have played with the same set of players for two years.

Hopefully Bauza is just mostly experimenting for now because Faraj-Abed-Sheri-Muwalad-otayf all need to be playing together.

Dowsari and Jasim can be switch if he feels like it.

Hes making drastic changes. Conceded 8 Goals in 4 games. Latvia and Jamaica are awful teams.

Against the two teams that matter, they have conceded 6 in two games. Ghana and Portugal are the only two worldcup caliber team and in both games they got soaked. 3-0 in both games.

SAF again showing complete incompetence per par with Saudi.

They need to Continue with the midfiled that got them there

    Faraj otayf/khaibari

    Sheri/Dowsary Abed Jasim/Dowsary

    Muwalad

I wouldnt even bother playing with Haza Or any CF..... Just allow Muwalad freedom to move and Get Abed,Sheri, Faraj, Otay to control the middle.

I saw the entire match, it was a terrible match played by Saudi... Hardly any attack on Portuguese goal, Saudi Forward was ineffective... the player who had somewhat decent game from Saudi side was Salem Al Dowsary, Abdullah Autef and few defenders... rest of the team was not passing well and were not creating good movement upfront. even the counter attacks were inefficient.

Bauza should select proper team and stick to it. No more experimenting... this is enough... Saudis played against world-cup caliber teams (Ghana and Portugal) and lost miserably 3-0, each... If the friendly matches continues like this against world class oppositions then expect another flop at the world cup and early exit at group stage, yet again.

Its a combination of poor quality and new tactics. Bauza faster approach is causing all sorts of problems defensively for themselves. When they try to attack the end result is wide open defense.

They need to play methodical in the middle and allow the terrible defense to breathe. Give them room by being patient in the middle.

They need to start playing with the main guys specially against these quality teams. These scrubs like fraidi arent going to play.

Something tells me this is another Prince with an ego case that wants his favourite players to play.

Simply I can't comment. The issue is we can't pick every coach for his approach and bash him for his tactics. BVM was constantly under pressure and criticism here and still he managed to get team in the WC . He played smart and did not ask much of friendlies in his tenure and only played team when it is needed. Had multiple training camps which bought the team more closer and he can interact more positively. But frankly speaking , I was not liking the team how they were playing under BVM may be coz we are used to see a fast Saudi NT.

Regarding Bauza and his tacks, its good he has good set of players and he desperately needs striker ..Finally a coach is able to select players outside the big four , so he and players need time to soak in pressure of playing in NT..He needs time and got plenty . If it continues, then I am afraid we might be looking at new coach before WC and also a potential disastrous WC.

Saudis are beyond unproffesional and incompetent.

but this is a chance for them to take a shot at Ramon Diaz. He has been in Saudi for two years. He knows the league. Steal him from Al-Hilal.

Who would want to coach saudi though?

I don't think Ramon will leave Hilal and Hilal will want to leave Ramon at this crucial stage. Best shot is bring back BVM ..

Every forward Bauza has tested have been super poor.

They need to bring back Sahlawi who is a pretty decent passing striker. He isnt your typical 9 but he works well with runners like Muwallad, Dowsary etc.

I worry like with every coach..They sometimes make changes for the same of changing. They never want to use the same tactic as the previous coaches.

It's pretty evident with the last two rounds in the Saudi League that the B- Team is just flat out atrocious.

I really don't blame him nor the players for poor show. One thing better is they got new players on board and ask them to prove themselves but side by side you really can't say them to score goals from the first match. They have to soak in pressure to play NT football.

We have lot many strikers in the league but only if clubs help them improve rather than relying on foriegn based players you can't develop them. It is the same reason we never are short of good GK's Defenders and most of the time midfielders coz clubs here over rely on foreign strikers but now I can predict this dynamics will change to once clubs establish themselves with foriegn players.

Just see the number of strikers we got at our disposal -

Mukhtar Fallatah - Overshadowed by Rivas, Eduwardo, Britos..
Sahlawi - Inconsistent but can't guarantee playing spot every game.
Muhanad Asiri - Overshadowed by Somah
Yousef Salem - Lost his career once he joined Hilal and was benched. Struggling to establish himself.
Hazzaa Al Hazza - Still fresh , needs season or 2 to be the best
Abdul Rahman Ghamdi - Overshadowed by Akaichi
Nasser Shamrani - Decent but can't rely long for his age
Mohammed Sairi - Overshadowed by big clubs. Has to move away to get his name
Naif Hazazi - Career gone after ACL. Still struggling to get his game going..
