Thoughts on the South Dakota firing? Mandy was married to the assistant Josh and they both aren't listed on the website anymore under the staff directory. Will they both land on their feet again somewhere else? Who will be contenders for the job?
FutbolFan, I'm not sure what school you are referring to as having hired a female coach from Earlham. However, the thread of texts you replied to was in regard to the Xavier position and the original post was made in April. Xavier did hire a woman coach prior to Nate Lie but she was not ever at Earlham. The female coach is Kacey White. She was the coach at Xavier only from the middle of December to about the middle of April when she resigned to accept a position with US Soccer. Prior to coaching at Xavier, Kacey was at CASL as a staff trainer/coach. Prior to that she had assistant coaching positions at Texas Tech, SMU, and Oklahoma. She played her collegiate ball as a Tarheel.

Worked out great for Kentucky and Davidson this year. Just two off the top of my head who hired an assistant when letting a coach go for not doing well.
Agreed I don't see them hiring an assistant. That program was a train wreck before Miller took over and he made it even worse which is kind of hard to do. No way an assistant gets the job. I'm shocked Wheddon hasn't been shown the door yet.
I really wonder how hot that seat is for Wheddon. He does US Soccer and he has his international GK conference. If that seat were hot, you would think he would drop that stuff and focus on his full time job. I fee that could be a decent program if someone worked full time at it.
Pitt is a hard sell. That is a huge rebuild. Have to basically build a brand new roster. AD would have to give at minimum a 5-year contract as first 2-3 years will be a fair amount of losses and building. Have to wonder who is willing to take that and the challenge of competing against the ACC elite. Even if they make a big name hire I don't see them making the ACC Tournament for a long while, as those top teams include Duke, UNC, Virginia, Wake Forest, Florida State, Notre Dame, and NC State. Just getting to the tier of Clemson, Louisville, Boston College, Syracuse, and VA Tech would be a challenge. They need to hire an experienced head coach, don't see an assistant doing it. Doubt they could pry another head coach away from a marquee program unless they throw huge $ which I feel is doubtful. Pitt also can't get top American kids over the other ACC schools so someone with international recruiting ties would be attractive. Someone like a Paul Royal from La Salle or a Simon Riddough from Hofstra could be a good fit. A head coach who is experienced, has won, and has some international recruiting ties. Not sure if either would even be interested given how massive the Pitt project is. But needs to be a head coach with a resume of winning and overseas recruiting.
Dr. Flogaites has been asked to kindly remove himself from the Pitt premises. I've already heard Moschos is going to apply.
Are you 100% sure that this statement on Ted is accurate, I'm not even sure if he's back in the country yet... Hiring Moschos would be the worst thing for this program, she's never been a head coach and caused an administrative nightmare for each school she's been let go from (Iowa State, Creighton (filed lawsuit that she lost), Ball State. Doubt she left Pitt on good terms, unlikely she'll get an interview. Currently she's the volunteer assistant at Florida State, doesn't even have a paying position and apparently there were no other schools willing to hire her as a paying assistant. Appears maybe you're friends with her?
Interesting on YSU - only been there 2 years. Yes they were bad, but still a very short tenure. Did you see this posted somewhere?
Buyer beware of posters that are first time users on the hotseat thread.... They all come out of the woodwork these days!
