All other browsers work fine. Dolphin, however, is the only browser that supports the full range of (now obsolescent) Adobe Flash applications without crashing half of the time (only about 20% of the time).

However, this is the only web site where Dolphin still shows such problem. Which makes me think there's some extraneous call in the formatting of the pages here. It'd also explain why the site is slower than comparable sites.

PS: Dolphin is known to be very squeamish about redundant code.

I wish you luck in getting developers to go out of their way to accommodate a browser that most people never heard of. ;)

Dolphin and Puffin are the browsers used by people who watch streamed soccer games on their phones, when you don't have computers or TVs around (or can't freely use them; i.e., at work).

I'm using Chrome now mostly and seemingly have less problems here.

I just notice this fine print at the bottom of the Watched Threads page:

"Designed by Audentio." (click and it takes you to www.audent.io)

Is that new, or did I just never notice it before? Anybody know anything about this?

Seems like some sort of outsourcing arrangement for BigSoccer's forums.

Sometime within the last week, I noticed that the site was sluggish. Often when I click something, even just the like button on a post, I get that little 3-bar animation that indicates it's working on it. And it seems to take 5-10X longer to complete.

    Anyone else noticing this?

I wonder when the last time the server was rebooted?

Hmm, if only there was someone who could bring it up with the admins ;)

Do many people still manage their own server directly anymore?

For example, we run a cluster but there is no way we manage it directly.

Rebooting the server was so 10 years ago.

Hosted/virtual servers are still manageable directly and still benefit from reboots.

And even if the whole server doesn't have to be rebooted, oftentimes restarting the specific software can do wonders too.

Not at this moment. But I haven't been on the website for the past 24 hours or more.

    Was anything done?

I am sure they do - i just don't get my hands dirty in the server grease anymore

There was a time when I knew how to login and reboot our dedicated server myself in an emergency

But these days we get our server cluster as a service via AWS and I don't touch any of the server OS stuff

In fact I could not imagine running my own server anymore - so I wondered if people still did this?

I have corporate clients who run their own boxes - as its a compliance thing.

But it seems way old skool

I work for small businesses, and a few of them still have their own servers, but that's by far the minority. Nearly 100% has shifted to the cloud, for better and for worse.

Still, I'd be curious to know how BigSoccer is hosted, whether the admins have the ability to reboot their (virtual) server or at least their software running on that server. I'm pretty sure they would.

The less people know, the harder it is to hack them, though.

For lack of a better place to post this (but to gain some visibility via a once-very-active thread)...

FYI, the UI got very wonky this morning. Especially the icons are missing: up/down arrows, edit bar tools, etc, etc, etc. Same problem across browsers and computers.

    Time for a system reboot?

Edit: Please try to avoid maintenance at 2pm-5pm ET today if you don't mind. ;)

@Janet H @dark knight, I'm it has been noticed, but yes, almost all icons are missing. Strangely, it looks like Club and Country icons are present, but nothing else.

Yes, I noticed this issue too. I guess everyone did.

Now, it really needs to be solved. Being icon-less is very annoying. :devilish:
