In a windmill tilting exercise towards changing our luck, post reasons Jimmy should stay-

Tallest manager in Union history, can see the entire 4-2-3-1 formation over players

As a former defender has a keen insight in developing young defenders like Yaro and Rosenberger

    Cheaper than a lawsuit defense

All suits are in Team blue

No one would ever confuse him with a trainer

We’re not in practice so we don’t see what he sees in Ray Gaddis

I feel dirty after reading this thread. Let's give some credit to Curtin though\, he can rock some tight pants.

Because the cost of getting a more expensive coach likely will not translate to more wins due to the lack of good players on the team.

(Is it okay that I did not provide a sarcastic response??)

I am sensing no sarcasm in this thread. Every response so far has been a true statement.

You can skip his press conferences because you already know what he said.

This gives me an idea for a drinking game...everybody drinks every time Jimbo says "Credit to ______" in a postgame press conference.

This was actually in the PR statement Earnie read.

When I look at Jim and what he has done over these past years, I am very pleased that he’s going to be part of us in 2018. All-time Union wins leader with 39; led the club to consecutive [U.S. Open] Cup finals; first head coach in Union history to record double-digit wins in three consecutive seasons. Under Curtin, the Union own a record of 10-2-4 when scoring the first goal in a match in 2017. At home, under Jim Curtin, the Union own a record of 27-6-9 when scoring the first goal of a match since he took over as head coach. He has won 30 matches at Talen Energy Stadium as head coach of the Union.

Thin enough so that he doesn't obstruct the view of play if you sit in one of the first few rows.

Conserves the strength of the bench players by keeping them fresh for most of the game, often thru the full 90 minutes.

Critical knowledge of when to substitute the goalie for PK's.

Helps settle the kids for bed with post game interviews filled with repetitive, monotone answers.

Encouraged better parenting from all his players who let their kids stay up late

Continued to show confidence when starters dribbled the ball out of bounds, encouraged them to "get back in the game" despite repeated failures.

Sticks to a plan/player/philosophy despite popular wisdom calling for a change

*after 11 years on active duty writing BS performance reports for less than stellar subordinates these kinds of phrases come all too easily when "praising" this coach.

As much of a nice guy as he is, I really think he was hamstrung by being put in to this position without adequate time to develop. I really, really hope he is able to learn from his time here and develop into a great coach both because I think he is a good guy and we really need him to improve for this team to be successful. Doesn't look like he is going anywhere in the off season so maybe he will take the time to look back and improve.
