Considering their highest attended game all season was less than half that... they’re clearly just giving all the tickets to the final game away. Just like they’re giving away free merch to anyone who comes out. There will not be 10,000 people or anything close to that in attendance.
Dude from from the Delta's "issues" a box of tickets in the trash bin then announces "Hot damn we got a sellout Y'all!!". Yeah that sounds about right.
I honestly think its a disservice to the clubs that actually do the work a la Robert Palmer and the Armanda.
And they will host a semifinal, too. That should be fun. BTW Kezar's capacity is listed as 9,044. FWIW.
Exactly. Their season ticket holders paid big league priced for their tickets. Fortunately, they had so few of them.
I watched a tiny bit of it on Twitter but not enough to form any opinion. It's possible they distributed 9,000 tickets and "only" 4,755 showed up. It's possible they distributed 9,000 tickets and 9,000 showed up but "only" 4,755 paid. I would tend to believe the former. The take rate on mass freebies is not that great, usually.

The Cosmos attendance was for the PR home game that was hurricaned. Nice crowd on short notice; btw not too many PR fans there tonight. This fall the Cosmos are showing the ability to draw people to Coney Island.
They finally find a decent sized audience and there’s a chance they might not exist next year. Go figure.
They had to go to New York to find it, though. There's an article in the WSJ saying the franchise is a wreck post-hurricane and their future is tenuous. Which is not surprising. I mean, even had there not been a hurricane, their future was tenuous. Indianapolis gets the last game tomorrow.
Looking at the highlights on NASL.com, I think you can safely say 9,000 did not show up. There appears to be plenty of space on the side opposite to the camera. I believe the majority of tickets were GA, so I can believe there were sections of the ground that were well filled, but the ground wasn't close to capacity. I am assuming of course that they didn't "sell" 9,000 with only half showing up
Kenn, The Puerto Rico - Indy game of Oct 21 in Indianapolis lists an attendance of 3,421 on the NASL web site.
That was the home game for Puerto Rico but played in Indy at 2:00 pm in the afternoon. That's probably why they didn't draw the normal Indy crowd.
No, I know that. It's a poser because I don't know what to do with it. I already put the other game for which I have an attendance figure for a PRFC "home" game on the opponent's field in the opponent's ledger. (The Cosmos game.) It did not seem to adequately represent a Puerto Rico crowd and they certainly did not put any of their sales and marketing resources behind it. It do not expect to get the other crowds, but it might just be cleaner to include them both in PRFC's column with a note and be done with it since they're probably toast anyway.
Kenn, the PR - Cosmos game was marketed by the Cosmos sales staff [I spoke to them]. They had only two weeks to sell tickets. They did promote it as Carlos Mendes last home game and with a food drive for PR.
