On the tv show "Hells Kitchen" on fox yesterday Julie Ertz Johnston and Alyssa Naeher were on. They played beach soccer with the men's chef team and were special guests at the dinner cooking service. If you have on demand you might be able to watch it.
season in review https://www.hottimeinoldtown.com/2017/10/19/16501634/mkot-2017-chicago-red-stars-in-review
Although I don't see it clearly spelled anywhere, I suppose the news above include internationals, so Yuki Nagasato should remain too?
http://chicagoredstars.com/chicago2018outlook/ In this article it does mention Yuki. I have one disagreement. Michele Dalton should not be retained. Make her an assistant, put her in the front office or something but the Red Stars need a much better second goalkeeper, IMO. There will be keepers coming out of college in 2018 that would be better and frankly deserve a chance to play pro over a goalkeeper who has pretty much been a disaster every time she has been put into a game. Nice person but not pro caliber. Also does this mean everyone IS coming back? Or do players have the option to opt out? The CRS also have some higher draft picks. Will they trade picks, players? I certainly hope the CRS get most of the players back, just need another quality goalkeeper. Looking forward to 2018.
Red Stars team awards (from CRS website): 2017 Chicago Red Stars Team Awards • Most Valuable Player Award • Defender of the Year Award • Goal of the Year • Unsung Hero Award • Iron Woman of Character (a player who most exemplifies what it means to be a Chicago Red Star) I nominate: • Most Valuable Player Award - Julie Ertz • Defender of the Year Award - Casey Short • Goal of the Year - Sofia Huerta • Unsung Hero Award - Katie Naughton • Iron Woman of Character (a player who most exemplifies what it means to be a Chicago Red Star) - Alyssa Mautz / Vanessa Dibernardo
• Most Valuable Player Award - Christen Press • Defender of the Year Award - Casey Short • Goal of the Year - Sofia Huerta • Unsung Hero Award - Sam Johnson • Iron Woman of Character (a player who most exemplifies what it means to be a Chicago Red Star) - the "TZ" ladies: MauTZ and ErTZ
I like the Press MVP award. The more I watch her, the more I'm impressed (although when she was in college, I felt she was the most dangerous attacker I'd ever seen, except for Sinclair). In the most recent WNT game, I really liked the three-forward starting lineup with Press, Morgan, and Williams up front. It let Christen move around a lot, especially forward and back into more of a mid-field role, which maximizes what she can do and gives the team the benefit of her tremendous work rate.
I mulled over the MVP award and unsung hero. I gave Ertz the MVP in a slight edge over Press due to that toward the end she scored some important goals and seems to always play at an even high level consistently. I also asked myself, which player would the Red Stars miss most if one of them left. Ertz was my def. answer. I had to decide between Dibernardo and Naughton as my unsung heros. Both go about quietly doing their job and do it well without much fan-fare.
blissett: to answer your inquiry: Yea! Yea! Yuki!!!!!! New contract: Vanessa DiBernardo Federation Players: Morgan Brian, Julie Ertz, Alyssa Naeher, Christen Press, Casey Short (United States)

For any of you that are interested, this is a synopsis of the lease agreement that the Fire has with the village of Bridgeview to use Toyota Park. INSANE! I wonder what the Red Stars deal is to use Toyota Park. https://socceresq.com/2018/05/09/st...be-the-best-worst-lease-in-the-united-states/
That's... I don't know what to say. I'm not studied on sports lingo, but the impression I get is that this sounds like one of the most lopsided tenant agreements in sports. I'm betting it's as intense as it is because the Village of Bridgeview thought they could milk as much out of MLS as they could... I would be very surprised if the Red Stars' deal is anywhere near as restrictive. That said, we know that Arnim had mentioned they got a really good (read: low-cost) deal to play at TP when they first announced the move, so they might have sacrificed a lot of control there just to have brought the cost down...
It looks like 2018 CRS items are being posted in 2017 CRS see above posts. Looks like something I might do
Mmm, you're right. Probably the point is no-one felt the need to open a 2018 CRS thread since everyone was treating this thread as if it was a CRS thread period. For reference, in Seattle Reign's forum we actually did open a 2018 thread.
Oh, ok!!! And I even posted a lot in it! So... when exactly we started using the wrong thread? Let's get back to the future! Everyone hop in the DeLorean and reach 2018!!!
